Happy Feast of St. Mary Magdalene! Fr. Matthew, thank you for enriching our knowledge about her: a great sinner, a great saint and an apostle to the apostles. Her great love for Jesus changes everything in her life, she who knows that His love, mercy and forgiveness is unconditional that raises her to eternity. The power of her love for Jesus is unstoppable and does anything to show her fiery love within. Mary Magdalene is a great example for us all. We must not be afraid of being a sinner, we must run to Jesus and present our sinfulness where He embraces us with joy, love and mercy. He’s always waiting for us, be not afraid.

@@alwaysmisskaryn Jesus asked Mary not to cling to Him because He has not yet ascended to the Father. Mary loves Jesus without doubt, but understands Him only as a Teacher. She has not realised His full divine identity, as God to be worshipped.

Father Matthew thank you for celebrating this very stirring Mass on this beautiful feast day of Saint Mary Magdalene. Today was the first time I heard the gospel account since hearing your talks on Mary Magdalene last summer. (Didn’t you have to do it in two sessions because the fire alarm was going off?). All of Today’s scripture has so much love for Jesus in it that it overwhelmed me! In God‘s abundant goodness I had the honor of reading the first reading and psalm at MASS this morning as I am the Monday morning lector, so I am truly all in today. Your homily was so moving, God bless you. We deeply love our Blessed Mother and she is perfect, so we can never be as Holy as she. However, we can aspire to be like Mary Magdalene because she is one of us, 1. a repentant sinner who asked for & received Divine Mercy and 2. An apostle of Divine Mercy spreading the ABC’s. Question? Why did Jesus ask that Mary not cling to him? It has been explained, but I forgot the answer. Thank you.
