I got Monarch when she first came out and gotta say she's a great warship, I have got Nelson as commander with inspirations of Revel and Ruchang with a reload of 17.4 seconds....lol if you know how to angle as your going in you don't need long range for guns.

She's a very consistent ship with Nelson. Impossible to do bad in but nothing overpowered. If she had vanguard fire chance she would feel less power crept

She is the ONLY ship that I've had with MULTIPLE consecutive double fires! Love the ship to death, bow tanks VERY well and it's short fused AP is very consistent with getting heavy penn... not that many citadels, but again very consistent penn.

I use Nelson as commander, and madden as inspiration. She is good for fire mostly. 🔥

Do u use big 7 skill for nelson? Great for additional damage but less penetrative?

@@Aaron-cb2dd well ya, not sure it does much better. But considering the options. I stick with it. How ever I noticed that as soon as the other team sees me they lob tons of fire back at me , same as the George it's a tinder box on water. Lol

I actually like the Monarch a lot. She's like a "poor man's" Lion, being what the Lion could have been had the Royal Navy gone with the 3x3 15" gun layout that was briefly considered following the KGV design. The armor scheme and maneuverability are solid for her tier. The 15" guns are good at starting fires on angled battleships, but they also have short-fuze AP that absolutely slaps broadside cruisers.

Lion is a larger ship than this ship. The Lions were escalator clause ships at 40k tons when laid down. Monarch is straight up a KGV with 15" guns, a 35k ton ship. The main reason the KGV class ended up with 14" guns was development of a 15"/45 gun would have delayed the new British BBs at least a year. The decision was made to continue with the new 14" gun and develop a 16" gun for the next class of battleships.

As Jingles says, a ship activates a very powerful skill "becoming someone else's problem" when it looses %95 of its health so no BB will shoot at it. :)

i was fighting against one last night and that guy must had a build for a flame thrower... i was in a Jean Bart and he set me on fire every time he shot at me.. you might want to try that one tommy

Love this ship had it for ages, great reload, can angle okay. And like all British bb don't sleep on that AP

I like monarch and consider her kind of like King George v the ultimate fire spammer at the tier. I use my John jellico vanguard build for her. With Italian reload and Japanese fire as inspirations. 17.2 range 20.7 reload 39.7 fire chance. And still 3 repairs at 1077 hp/s 18.5 duration. I actually prefer monarch for one reason better fire angles and better bow tanking with 6 turrets forward.

Been considering Monarch as my next GXP ship and this review has helped me decide. It's no doubt a decent ship... But during my period of familiarisation would I regret my choice and wish I had chosen something else? Probably yes - so Monarch might get left to one side for some time?

Congratulations on saving 750K GXP. I actually like Monarch. I use her for longer ranges, since she can get the planes and Lion for closer ranges as she is also bulkier.

I bought this ship purely for use in bureau projects. I see a lot of people talk trash about Monarch but it seems fine to me.

I like the ship, the only thing it needs as a buff is rudder shift time. It has one of the slowest rudder shifts at tier 7, for no reason at all. It’s basically like playing stock king George, really forcing you to run steering gears to be able to turn. No idea why it’s so bad, once it’s buffed I’ll play it a lot more. Without that buff, Vanguard is better in pretty much every practical way

Try to combat the negative brawler perk. -10% range from brawler. Claw nearly half of that back with megatron. With the meta/way people play right now be at such long ranges that -10% range can make play rough

I still think that WG made a major error by forcing the WoWL Monarch to use its original A Hull from PC. It may have some great heals, but the extra buff of increased HP and far better AA would really make it competitive. With how good Vanguard is at the moment, there just isn't a good reason to pick the ship up as it is.

I still play her. She need a concealment buff. Lowest hp of all T7 BB. Very problematic in open waters. Islands are her best in this current meta and sooner or later she falls off.
