Regarding the plothole image of Godzilla painted on the nuke before they even know what he looks like: I wonder if the footprint (which loosely resembles a theropod footprint) brought imagery of a dinosaur to mind and so that is where the idea came from to paint a dinosaur-like creature on the nuke itself. It just so happened to be more accurate than they imagined.

I like how you are trying to fix it, but LoM screwed with the continuity too much,. I think they just didn't pay enough attention to detail. As someone who pays attention to a LOT of what Hollywood writers say, I can say as fact that continuity and consistency is not high on their list of quality measure. And they actually hate fans who complain about continuity errors and inconsistency. love the video, keep up the good work.

I think it was the SCP Foundation that framed it best with their "Three SCP Foundations" lore trick, as well as DC Comics with their "Three Jokers Timeline", because there's a structural trope that everyone seems to do yet nobody seems to notice. The tope is "Motion, Still Frame, Writing", these are the three continuities. When you write a story you first charter it as guideline notes, then character and background development, thread it together with a progression plot, and now you've got literary tapestry. Once you have tapestry in words, you can begin tapestry in still frame images, which is how we migrate from novel to comics. Once we have comics, we quintessentially have a more advanced version of a storyboard, hence once we have the tapestry of a storyboard we can begin in tapestry of motion film or animation, which takes the dialogue of a comic or script into a film or animatic as inspired from the less realistic novel, which shows us how three stories can share a same theme but end up with required structural differences, between writer's imagination, artist's visualization, and director's expectation. Any narrative property has three continuities inherently within it, and so in the case of Monarch we will naturally see a novelization of lore, a comic of lore, and a film of lore, each being capable of telling the same Godzilla and Titans story while each can't tell each other's stories, not with absolute equivalence and factuality. This inherently allows for each continuity to feed on each other for mutual plot progression, that as one timeline of the trinity develops, the other two timelines take inspiration from it, which is why properties are owned by Studios, each Studio having a writers department, an artists department, and a cinematography department. Fourth and Fifth timelines being Merchandising (kid's toys) and Theme Park Rides, but that's getting into Universal and Disney territory.

I Have a Theory that can Connect with Monarch LOM and the Godzilla Awakening Comic, so it's basically the same thing as the Comic, but with some diferences, instead of Shaw recruting Eiji, it's Randa who is one of the Founding members, and instead of the Castle Bravo test to try to kill Godzilla and Shinomura, it's Operation Crossroads, which happened in 1947, but Randa did not Participated because he didn't believe in Godzilla, and after Monarch is ''Disbaned'', everyone follows their Paths instead of Randa, who still believes that other Monsters are out There, so he continues Monarch all by himself until 1952 when he met Keiko and Shaw. Basically that's it :)

13:21 I think I have an explanation, there is a possibility that legends previously existed of Godzilla in this universe. Like in Awakening, Serizawa's father learns of Godzilla through the perspectives of natives from the different places he went to, and gathered many pieces of art throughout all of history. We now know that Awakening isn't cannon, but who isn't to say that the Monarch in this universe also took the same approach?

At least now we know now that mostly all the extended novels, comics, and so are canon now. If it wasn’t clear Tiamat showing up in GxK should do it for everyone. The easiest way to keep Awakening in line with Monsterverse canon is to retcon the dates when Eiji met Lee/joined monarch and have Godzilla kill Shinomura before he gets nuked, simple as.

Nah. Awakening has never fit canon. It’s been obliterated from Canon now. Even something as simple as Shaw couldn’t have recruited Ishiro anymore due to his time in Axis Mundi followed by secure asset management. But even before that, it failed to fit the 2014 film.

Monsterverse needed a Kevin Feige figure to keep continuity across all movies and tv shows. Because the way it is now, feels like any director or writer can add or retcon whatever they want. It’s weird how the people who made the Skull Island anime and Legacy of Monsters say there’s a “mythology department, responsible for keeping continuity” but they are clearly doing a bad job!

I was thinking about something. What if the reason that Godzilla was on land in Indonesia was to kill the Shinomura and then left. Also the godzilla KOTM movie novelilazations shinomura was referenced.

Novelization canon is under film canon and on the same level of comic canon. Basically a congruent running timeline alongside the films. There are lots of things in those novels that don't fit into the film canon at all. And Shinomura is one of them. Until they show it in a new movie, Shinomura is no longer canon. We'll wait to see what happens in future seasons and films to see if they bring it into the current timeline.

Imo, this Monsterverse world building has been underwhelming. 2014 wasn't an attempt to rival that of Marvel films with their formula of shared universe etc. So what happened to Skull crawlers and Mutos which were absent in GXK? Why are so many monsters now just generic Asylum film creatures? They just throw randon %&*# at the wall with these entries.

Odds are the skull crawlers species is dead on skull island specifically but still alive in some cases due to apex breeding some and some others likely living in the hollow earth since the species orientated there. The mutos likely still being dormant in some undiscovered places on the surface. The MV isn't rivaling the mcu, nor wasn't made to rival the mcu. They're not throwing random stuff at the wall if they got 3 whole toho eras to take notes from. You want an example of throwing darts and see what sticks? Toho's millennium and reiwa eras. Why else do you think those eras are experimental and the MV is traditional

The hollow earth wasn't discovered til gvk, up until that point, it was just that monarch knew existed but haven't found it yet so you essentially answered your own question. Same way while godzilla 2014 was going on, an alien frozen in ice wasn't even discovered by monarch yet. The hollow earth is a real theory (a debunked one yes) but still a real one, so how is that a random thrown to the wall idea when it was a real theory at one point? Make that make sense. Especially when this concept was first introduced in ksi. Keep in mind too, toho literally had this same idea at one point. Remember a canned film called bride of godzilla? A robot taking godzilla into what is described asna underground world filled with other godzillas and anguiruses?. Sounds familiar?. @Kaiju-bm4ts "make it make sense" haven't heard that phrase a million times. Well I'm generally discussing the underwhelming world building in this series. Giant sky scraper apes were pulled out of Wingards ass and thrown to the wall. And back to the MUTOS and Crawlers, I will use Nolans Dark Knight trilogy for example. When he delivered Begins and introduced the Legue of Shaddows he didn't just forget they existed, they were actually relevant the whole time. The Skull Crawlers were known to dwell in the Hollow Earth so what happened? And for the MUTOS they are supposed to be an ancient species that rivaled Godzilla. There's one Godzilla in this series at least that's consistent however the MUTOS are known to breed in large. Where did they go? In the end credits of Skull Island there are cave paintings of an apocalyptic battle between Godzilla and Ghidorah and then in KotM ancient carvings of Godzilla vs Kong. No indication that there's a race of Giant Apes. What doesn't make sense is piling non sense for the sake of having Monster battles with endless plot holes. And I've seen all Showa films don't bring that comparison up. Those were way more depth than what they're trying to deliver here.
