Another fantastic video. Wonderful instruction. I just can't believe how well Steve presents all this stuff. To be able to take scales (which as he said can get repetitive), and expand them using these arpeggios is just amazing. I love it when Steve reflects on his past and how he's evolved. The sounds he makes using those arpeggios is fantastic. The heck with Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, and Eric Clapton. I want to learn to play like Steve Stein!!!

Thanks Steve, for all your videos. You are the King Of Teach. I have yet to come across anyone who is so down to earth and humble when teaching. I recommend you to everyone who is learning from children to adults. You teach at in a method that the young can understand and the old (Like me lol ) can also understand without feeling like a child being taught. Keep up the great work. We appreciate you.

Not only that, but his instruction is delivered in such a calm, intelligent manner. It's no wonder he has so many viewers. I'm amazed PBS hasn't picked him up. If Steve ever makes it to conventional television, I think he would have major ratings. He would make a fantastic host. He could bring in all kinds of great guitarists. He could ask them questions only a master like him would know.

You are like Coach Belichick of our KZbin guitar journey! Thanks for inspiring us and motivating us - this was an important one! If you ever do a Question and Answer session : 1. When someone is getting stuck learning one song and making slow progress (gets tough and boring after a while), should we learn another song at the same time? 2. How many songs should a intermediate guitarist learn at the same time? 3. If you cannot hit the right notes doing bends, can we do half step and full step to least learn the song (melody) and then try and hit the bends later (or just skip the song!)? 4. When learning a song, should we play from the start of the song every time (which might get a little monotonous) or should we start from the next verse and then come back and play the previous verses after we learn a few more (hope it makes sense)? Just a few thoughts. Have a great week ahead..cheers!

Awesome questions, Rohan! For questions 1, 2, and 4, watch this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4rZZnqhmMt2b6s In the video, Steve talks about 2 types of songs, Ego songs and Project songs. Ego songs are easy for you to play, and project songs require more work. The details depend on you, but for example, you could be working on one project song - a song that challenges you - and have 2 or 3 ego songs that you can play through for fun. The idea is, if you only work on a project song, you might get frustrated. But if you have a few easier songs to play through also, you can still have fun and play some songs, even if you can't play your project song yet. Steve explains it better in the video, so be sure to check it out. :-) By the way, if you like Steve's KZbin videos, make sure you check out the new GuitarZoom Premium Membership: guitarzoom.com/join When you join, you get unlimited streaming over 40 of Steve's best guitar courses (including his best-selling course Acoustic Guitar), and new courses are being added regularly. Steve i have been playing for 2 years and i have been struggling i still play like a beginner and i dont know what direction to go to or work on next either it be power chords, legato, chords, scales, down picking or learning songs i just end up getting confused and frustrated and i dont know what direction to go to first in terms of learning other guitar teachers say different things and i dont know where to look and follow
@stinemusiclessons3 жыл бұрын
Something that happens with a lot of guitar players is that they try to learn to many things at once, or move on to the next thing before they're really ready. It's so tempting to do that, because many talented guitarists (including Steve) have the ability to make complicated stuff look easy. What all new guitarists need to remember is that it took a long time for Steve (or any other talented guitarist) to get to the point where they can make it look easy. They spent a lot of time learning fundamentals like chords, scales, and things like that, and all the amazing stuff they can play is built on top of those fundamentals. So, don't get discouraged because you're struggling. Keep going, because it does get easier the more you play. Here's a video (and playlist) that might help: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nn_Zhnxpe7CDgLM Those are previews from Steve's course Guitar In 8 Weeks, where he breaks down everything you need to start playing songs. If you like what you see, go here and go here and become a GuitarZoom Member: guitarzoom.com/join You'll get instant access to Guitar In 8 Weeks, as well as 40+ more of Steve’s best guitar courses, including soloing courses, music theory courses, licks courses, fretboard courses, chords courses, and more. So if Guitar In 8 Weeks is easy for you, there's a LOT of material to check out next. The courses are for all skill levels, and they're designed to help you make steady progress that lasts, so you can keep making progress and improving, no matter what your musical goals are. Plus, you get access to new GuitarZoom courses as long as you’re a member, and access to the GuitarZoom Community on Facebook. It’s an awesome way to stay motivated and always have something fun to play. Check it out, and no matter what, keep playing! -- Mike from GuitarZoom

@@stinemusiclessons No worries. I know you've been busy. I love your videos. I ended up picking up the same chair from Best Buy for around $300.00. Since I'm a little older (and had a little extra money to spend), you'll be pleased to know I own five really beautiful Fender and Gibson Custom Shop guitars. In 7 months, I've learned all five Diatonic and all seven Pentatonic scales (backwards and forwards). With your instruction I've learned to expand and contract them so they don't sound like scales. But I need to spend more time playing the jam sessions. Time for me to start on chords.
