Only answer is to try to bottom out. We won’t win the cup with this core even with Wolf because we can’t win playoff series scoring less than 4 goals in regulation especially against scoring machines like Mcdavid, Mack, etc. Trade Ras, Coleman, Kadri, etc.

For the Honzek bashing, look at some of the centres taken after him. They're not even having as good of a season as Suniev. The 2023 1st round was totally overrated. It's reminiscent so far of 2013.

@ this is why this is the worst situation because everyone and their mom knows we need to be bad but no one wants wolf getting shelled. That is why we should have tanked earlier for bedard and celebrini during their draft years so this year when wolf finally became the starter we actually want to try for the playoffs since we would hopefully have the star centre, great supporting forward prospects, great young d, and ofc franchise goalie. Eventually if we are stuck in the murky middle we might have to have the disgusting thought of trading wolf because he is the only reason we won’t ever tank properly and since he can’t score goals we will never win also 😂 🤦🏾‍♂️.

@@DaiinkehI like your thought process here, but you can’t trade Wolf. There are ways to lose with a good goalie. We need to disband some of our vets and bring up more Wranglers. They might be the best AHL team right now, but if you bring up a bunch of them at a time, we are guaranteed going to be bad while they adjust to the new league

@@mitchellgreene867 I kind of agree with you in that we have to sell off the vets but Wolf is just that good that he alone will will us out of bottom 10 in drafting in the coming seasons. He is doing just that this season. It truly sucks because the ONLY thing missing for this team is that young game changing forward(preferably a centre). I want him to succeed like we all do but him having a great individual regular season will only cost us the future rebuild plan. This is the WORST scenario to be in. Too good to bottom out because of a goalie and too bad to win because of a lack of offensive talent.

@@joeygoedhart633 at the end of the day the goal is to win the cup. Not to win the draft lottery or to sign the biggest free agents but to win the cup. I am not saying to trade Wolf (him, pahrek, and maybe Zary/Mews are our only untouchables). I am just saying we have been in this situation many of times with Markstrom, and then Kipper. Our goalies will be too good to not draft high but our offence was too bad to win the cup. Ofc we had the opposite being true in the johnny pre-markstrom era. I am just saying that it is better to just freaking finally do a full blown rebuild than to have another nth straight era of being in the murky middle. Unfortunately that might have to be trading wolf if he again makes us be too good to tank while we have no offensive superstar(s) to actually win the cup. That decision will be a hard one and something to think about in the coming seasons I am just too traumatized as a flames fan for 20+ years to know how this team works and what decisions probably should take place to not repeat history once again.
