Smashing video Corin 👍😎 I bought two Larch from Ian Baillie at the Don Valley Stadium years ago, One didn't wake up one spring a few years later but the other is alive and well, I was told he doesn't actually do Bonsai, He actually told me his wife grew the trees in their garden!! One of them was in one of his pots, Someone wanted to buy the pot but not the tree that was in it so I bought the tree!! 😊

I think larches look best when displayed during fall, which I think the first pot will be a beautiful choice for the tree

That larch is amazing! I have one that has almost a similar structure but is much much smaller and younger of course. I found it on a trail all trampled, but it adds to the character.

Benishi Dory(sp?) maple, respectfully, looks to me like it has a contrary apex. You might could cut it back to a rightward growing branch. I read somewhere in an old magazine that it's better that the apex winds up in the same direction as the main trunk, and I've looked for this, and decided I agree. Just a thought.

Hi Corin, my boulevard cypress I did with u last year on this course is going a bit brown on the insides, is this normal?

Some older foliage near the centre of the tree might brown off. Also outer foliage can get a bronze tinge during winter, but that is just winter colour.

Why not put the Larch in a semi-cascade pot? The tree looks like a semi-cascade.... If you changed the planting angle a bit it could almost be a full cascade.

Difficult, to get the drop over the edge of pot, and the large section of trunk on the right would be in the air due to new angle
