I ride a 2022 FXLRST and before that a 2008 Roadglide that I bought new. My ST is definitely set up club style 10.5 pullback risers, Odi mid bends, whiplash seat. The most comfortable and aggressive bike I have owned. Loren was right on when he said “ legs forward you’re not ready to make immediate corrections “. Spot on! If your ride isn’t reliable what’s the point. Thanks Mooch for the content.

Haha the most recent dyna I bought had short shots, 10” t bars, forward controls, and a t sport fairing. The biggest reason I bought it was because you can tell it wasn’t rode far or hard at all 😂 the first thing I did was scrapped the short shots and forward controls. I’m not in the club life anymore but I’m still not scared to cross multiple states on my dynas or fxr’s im hoping to see a comeback once these baggers get played out. Anyone can hop on a bagger and do miles, I loved seeing the old times back in the day putting serious miles on stripped down bikes.
@TheTc909
@TheTc909 4 ай бұрын
Imo, the bagger phase will never die out. It will always be a thing as will club style. Obviously, you have to actually ride one, either one, to really know why.

If you ask Dago, they'll tell you it was their Charter who started building the bikes this way. If you ask Ventura… they'll say it was them. Either way, it started with the HAMC, set up for high speed and functionality

It used to be a lot harder to get the parts we wanted for that look. And I agree. The switchback was a shot in the right direction but missed. The ST was right on target

Usually back then, motorcycles is about either "function over form" or "form over function". But the way I see it, clubstyle is like a middle ground to that. Getting your bike to perform at it's peak without sacrificing comfort and style.

@@MondaysWithMooch Question, did you ever meet any oldy moldy heads from Devils Disiples while in Oregon? No relation to the DD outside Oregon. They were active on a smaller scale from 70’s until the Mother prez died, and they disbanded. Outlaw was one of the big names, and he was Mother Prez son. I think they may have started Whitehurst Ministries in the 90’s.

Funny, I didn’t have any idea anybody was doing all this when I did it to my 02 Wide Glide, brought that bike home brand spanking new (bought it on Sep 11, 2001 and it came in early January 2002) and took that bike home and put it in the garage for the winter, stripped it and made it my own. It has metamorphised several times since then but still runs and rides good for whatever I want to do with it. This was interesting listen. Thanks 🙏🏼

This was a good video, the definitive origins when it came to Clubstyle are usually shrouded and left up to speculation. An already niche coterie that gets even more niche outside of the West Coast and United States respectively. Especially with how it evolved and diverted and even split between the stunting scene of it and the mile crushing scene.

Excellent content Mooch Man! I myself ride a 2007 Dyna Street Bob Monster Chopper Trike due to an accident at work in the Quarry where I was in charge of Explosives Operations for 29 years, left me with a crippled left leg in 2009, Would have loved to have had a LRST But to trike it would destroy that handling that people say about, I wish that the LRST was around when I bought my brand new Fatboy back in 1992, it would have been a way better option for me back then, but no at the age of 60 my Ol' Skool Chopper Trike is just right for me and my Ol' Lady Jules, Mike from Wales over here in the UK 👍🤘😎🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

@@04boostedboxer not from the research I have done. You might want to go do some research yourself. 110se eats lifters every 10k and is known to spin crank bearings at 50k. The cost to fix this compared to what it cost to build a m8 is a whole different topic. Not to mention the “dyna wobble”. The softail out performs the dyna in handling as well.
@04boostedboxer
@04boostedboxer 4 ай бұрын
@@Saturdays_We_Volunteer your “research”? Ok bud. Come back to me when you have 20 years as a certified master HD technician under your belt. The twin cam motor as a whole, is far more reliable than the Milwaukee 8 has been since it was released. 🥱
@Saturdays_We_Volunteer
@Saturdays_We_Volunteer 4 ай бұрын
@@04boostedboxer if you are a “certified technician” then you yourself would know the softail is the better performing platform. All of the “certified technicians” I know tell me m8 over twin cam. Ok I might have to replace a compensator. Whoopie!?!? A cam swap in a m8 produces way better numbers than a twin cam has to offer also.

This was Great!! Hasn't motorcycle culture always been a bit of a fashion show? The whole thing with motorcycles is how you outwardly express yourself as an individual even within a MC. I do get the frustration of the social media clout chasing that is winning in the algorithm over racking miles. Maybe motorcycles are just the late bloomers to the phony/poser influencer plague that has been thriving on the rest of Social media.

Performance Built > Clubstyle I see too many posers riding these "clubstyle" bikes with tons of money on it but can't even drag a peg around a corner. Go look at someone's bike and if they don't have scrape marks on the bottom of their lifted bikes pegs then they are just posers. Go look at Kruesi Orginals bikes.
