Seeing all the comments from foreigners about how well this song touched them despite not understanding a single word, and then remembering the lead singer regrets his entire musical career now is heartbreaking to me. Trio was such a giant part of our childhoods, and they were one of the first people on the (mainstream) scene making original melodies. You hear Trio's melodies and it feels intrinsically Maldivian. It is heartbreaking that this is another good thing that had to get ruined by radical religion.
