For me these figures are like getting to date the most popular person in your grade, only to find that there's a lot of baggage. I often find myself saying, "yeah, but they're so good looking!" At the end of the day, they look beautiful in a display, and I have to have them. Thanks for another great review, Dan. Hope to meet you some day.

Solid review! I got my Donny the other day and I feel the same as you. I do like it! I was fairly excited about these, and ordered them but that was before the NECA movie Turtles were announced or shown. Now that I have those and they are cheaper and, in my opinion, better toys with amazing sculpts, it's harder to get excited about these(I know they're very different versions of the characters, but I'm hoping you get my point). Plus it's been such a LONG wait to get them(who knows how long Mikey and Raph will take), that doesn't help. Also, I find it a tiny bit odd how similar the Mondo heads are to the comic Neca turtles sculpts(like same facial expressions for all four turtles). These seem like $60-$70 figures. Anyway, always a pleasure watching your reviews, Dan!!

It looks like a nice figure, but I'd never be able to afford that asking price... It probably sounds crazy, but I haven't had any Turtles figures for a very long time. And these days, I just want to get my hands on one decent set of the foursome. I really dug the Classics Secret of the Ooze figures, but they never showed up at my local Walmart. And online scalping is really making it hard to find them affordable. But, hopefully one day I'll luck out and get a set of Turtles I'm happy with.

I was happy because my donatello was such a ghuuuge improvement over my Leo, but I do agree, I see this as a 100-120 range. hopefully they keep improving them but pretty sure the sculpt for these guys is more or less set in Stone. Mikey should be on his way soon!

I don't have any knowledge to base this on, but I'm guessing that, with a head that size, a ball joint that you'd actually pop the head on and off of would be exceptionally difficult to use. It would require a lot of pressure. Maybe? Again, just a guess. I love your reviews, Dan.

Great review Pixel Dan! Question: On your figure's head(s), did Mondo fix the seam issue around the mouth? On my figure the seam issue is still present. Also noticed that the wash on the red bandana looks darker compared to Leo's red bandana. Thanks in advance.

Mondo need 3 years to release this figure, while Neca is fast, realistic figure and cheap price for 1/4 tall.

Cloud VII but you also forget that mondo is new to this toy game. It's to be expected their turnaround isn't going to be as quick plus it's not really fair to compare them with neca who has been in the toy business for how long now?

I fully agree with what you said, the good and the bad. Truth be told the price and wait has been ridiculous. Even worse, the final product is a bit mediocre. They aren't selling for even close to what people paid either. My complaint about both the figures are the legs. They're too skinny, and the knees look really bad. They badly need a redesign. The weapons need help too. Donnie's staff looks too skinny, and the material was a bad choice. I really hope Mondo gets better, because I still want Raph. They teased a Shredder too, who knows how long we'll wait for that one.
