What an athlete, in the physical sense. I'd have been interested in seeing him do a 200m, the way he came on so strong as the race developed. He was always going to be a pole vaulter, but my gosh he's got some powerful bounce and acceleration once in full stride. I bet he's got a pretty good standing vertical leap.
@timn44816 жыл бұрын
Man your parents gambled on you being athletic with the pole vault.... and they nailed it! 10.57 is absolutely quick enough for a PV WR. I hope you realise how genetically blessed you are and make the most of it.

Nah, they didn't gamble, they instiled a great level of athleticism and that paid off. All of his siblings are world class athletes in their own sport.

we wont see his true limit. he'll keep +1 ing the WR. He was sailing over 6.20 even 2 years ago..suggesting 6.35m+. he could probably jump 6.40 but by the time his WR is into the 6.30s, he'll be his late 20s or even early 30s and his best years behind him. might still nudge it a bit higher but we wont see his best. if only they p[aid financial rewards 'per cm above WR'

Under 12 sec is for very athletic people... Under 11 sec very gifted and athletic... Under 10 super human... I used to do 13... I was not that fast.
@holomurphy22 Жыл бұрын
I ran 12.66 before really going through puberty and some people my age (14) ran 11.50 at local events. I only won one race and it was not the final, which I lost by quite a margin. 12 is probably a quite usual time for a 20 yo guy who really invest in a sport. Definitely athletic compared to general population though. 11.5 is quite fast but nothing that special for someone who trains (I believe one third of male that trains consistently can achieve it, the other 2 third will not even if training. Just a guess though). 11 is fast and decently gifted. Id say one in 15 male that trains. 10.5 is very gifted 10 is world class so utterly gifted. It's a bit more than 100 people in the world. 9.5 is Usain Bolt class so one in many thousands, maybe one in hundred thousand? Not one in a billion due to sprinting not beign that popular (except in Jamaica where it is quite popular)

@@holomurphy22 I don't have my peak performance I used to long jump 5.60 meters when I was 14 ... I jumped of place no run 2.85 meters at 18 years old.. But running under 12 sec you need to be gifted! If you don't have it it will never happen! Under 11 Super gifted! under 10 very rare! If you take 1000 random young men aged 15-25 how many of them will go under? 12 Seconds? I guess in average 1 or less ! that is a gifted person! Think about the best student within 1000 people he is gifted! Under 11 from general population I guess we are talking about less than 1 in 10,000,000. And under 10? 1 in a 1,000,000,000 !!!! Who are able to do it today. (And lets face it some of them use what ever is needed) so? Israel Champions finish in about 10.5 Sec so we are a nation of more than 9,000,000 no one went ever under 10! 70 years not even one! So yes Africans are faster... But they are not a big part of the worlds population.
@holomurphy22 Жыл бұрын
@@SenseiEli I went from consistent 14.4 to 12.66 (electric record, normal wind) in a year. I didnt get my full puberty in this year, I was still quite tiny. So one can indeed improve to a good extent (I trained hard, a bit too hard because I then got injured and quit) Imo your stats are somewhat true if you pick random people but not trained one. Under 10 sec there have been ~100 people so its not 1 in billion even including people who dont train and women and children

@@SenseiEli I think if any person trained their whole life jus to run the 100m they can break 12 I ran a 11.9 as a freshman and I don’t consider myself fast at all but breaking 11 is a different story, hell at a meet I had to run 15-16 and a dude was running a 10.5 😂

@timn44816 жыл бұрын
not just about... absolutely is. And as a poster put up before, he could find 0.1-0.2 with arm action improvement. Jonathan Edwards who is the TJ WR holder ran a 10.3-10.4 100m. Renaid Lavillenie's 100m PB is 11.04s and Bubka's 100m was reportedly sub 10.5s.
@wayneegli83794 жыл бұрын
All-time best for women is 10.49(wind), 10.61(?) without wind assist. Mondo is 10.60 when wind corrected. Also Bubka was 10.2-10.3 (claimed, no evidence), this could also be hand-timed which is 10.5 FAT.
@randyevermore93234 жыл бұрын
@@timn4481 I heard 10.2 for Bubka. His was originally a pure sprinter.

The current women's Olympic record is 10.61. This run would be the second fastest female 100m in history. So no he's faster than every current female sprinter on Earth, as a non-sprinter. Flo Jo is the only person who has run faster and her world records have stood for over 30 years.
