You know that verse they love misquoting? The one about money being the root of all evil? Yet every other sermon is about giving. And how it is more blessed to give than to receive🤦♀️🤦♀️.

Unfortunately for me, every time when I start gaining momentum, things happen to set me back (my wife and losing our jobs, home & auto repairs, health, etc.). I don't spend my money like crazy. However, I like what your Pastor said about being financially free and being planted in the right soil to properly utilize the gifts and talents blessed you with.

"16 of 38 parables is about money" - the operative word there is PARABLE. Meaning it is in fact NOT about money, money is just the illustration about something else (usually the Kingdom of God). That said, there was a lot of really good stuff in this interview!! Thank you Lecrae, keep it up!!

So true it's about money as a barometer of our hearts like he said, not the money itself so the better you love God the better your money management will be. At least that's how I understood it. I'm so excited to study this topic 😃

Please read the scriptures about tithing for yourself!
@cindyc1213 сағат бұрын
Tithing and giving is about obedience to God's word. And it's also about understanding that the church doesn't run on air. We want the privilege of going to church, experiencing great music and preaching, want the Pastor to preach, be a counselor, do weddings, funeral, go to son football games etc and get mad when they get a salary have Lexus or Telsa or nice house 🤷🏾😂. Get mad when they say the church has expenses, but also get mad when they don't feed the less fortunate or help with rent say it's not doing enough that takes expenses. Where do people think it comes from?. It's backwards. If we have expenses, why would not believe the church doesn't have the same?

Please do a little research on if tithing is for the new covenant believers! Nevertheless this was a great discussion. Blessings!
@casualinthekitchen12 сағат бұрын
My husband and I completely agree!! New Covenant believers are not commanded to tithe; we are to GIVE. Read Acts 14-15. The law of Moses was not for Gentiles. There are only 4 things under the Law of Moses we were are commanded to follow and they all have to do with our bodies, safety and idolatry. I appreciate you sharing this. I hope many would learn the truth.
@zinhlemkhize23322 сағат бұрын
So we are not supposed to tithe?? Which means when Jesus told the Pharisees to tithe he was speaking to the old covenant since he wasn't crucified yet?? If I am understanding you right, how did you figure, or where did Jesus say we should now stop tithing because the new covenant is in effect?? I'm so intrigued. And if we should stop tithing how should the church run?? Does the pastor take on full responsibility or should we just give whatever/how ever much we want to?? That sounds to me like Cain's offering that wasn't very pleasing to God. But then that doesn't matter because it's in the old covenant. Why do we even need the OT then?? I have so many questions 😂😂
@zinhlemkhize23322 сағат бұрын
Does the 4 things include the Ten Commandments or did they become obsolete??
@haimif3 сағат бұрын
Thank you for this Lacrae and Pastor Lee Jenkins. It really blessed me and made me think. Lord Jesus bless you all and your families. One of my takes is how the pastor said there are over 2000 verses in the bible that speak about money. I mostly knew about two and they mention money in a negative light. Now I am thinking to study this topic and change my perspective on money and how to be the best steward of it.
@zinhlemkhize23322 сағат бұрын
I feel you I got so amped to actually go study the topic because I really thought since I tithe then I don't have to worry about money 😂 But I am glad this came up cause I have been realising how I can never tithe away my mismanagement of the 90% Just typing this I am thinking that I really was using my tithe to "buy" me miracles out of the mess I constantly put myself in when I abuse the 90% 🙄🤦🏾♂️

This is good stuff yall I'm watching this for the second time and I'm still getting new revelations!!! 24:39 Lecrae is saying we are irritated by how the pastors in jets seem to be managing their money and the Pastor Lee saying because we are expecting a level of modesty from them. That was a gut punch I missed it the first time, won't God feel the same with us when he blessed us with income and we just rolling in all the symbols of wealth and not displaying modesty?? Our very irritation with them is our own indictment. Maybe that's why the Scripture says we will be measured by the same measure we use. Maybe God is just saying how I feel about you is just the same way you feel about other people because my image is in you and you and I are really alike, I made you in my likeness ❤️

Or…you can give up “your life & take up your cross daily” & be given eternal life ♾️👑. Deny yourself - whatever you would “give up on Lent”, make that sacrifice for 6-12 months, or better yet…make that sacrifice permanent. For example: eating out at restaurants, vacations, listening to music, watching a certain TV show, meat, alcohol, physical touch or just participating “in this world 🌍 because your of it”, where The Anointed One is “Not of this world 🌍.” I agree, God looks at the HEART 💚 - the WHY behind your sacrifice… As Yeshua/Jesus Christ stated “whatever you give, give in secret” because announcing it to “this world 🌍” for praise/admiration…that’s all the reward you will receive; that sacrifice will mean nothing to who’s approval means the most…Our Heavenly Father.

John 6:27 Jesus said labor not for meat that perish- labor mean work- Revelation 13:17 no man might buy or sell save he that has the mark of the beast-The only thing you buy and sell with is Money. Money is the mark of the beast. Mark 10:23 Jesus said how hardly shall they that have riches enter the kingdom of God. Matthew 6:24 no man can serve God and Money- Serve means work and mammon mean Money. Jesus said the poor will make it in the kingdom of Heaven. Remember where the rich man ended up in hell and Lazarus went to paradise. There are a few people like me believe Jesus is against living for money while many people like you is deceiving people to live for money. Jesus told the rich man to sell all you have and give it to the poor-Matthew 19:21. Jesus is not into getting us physically rich but spiritually rich. Jesus did not uplift money he put it down. Matthew 24:11 Jesus said many false prophets shall rise and deceive many. Look at the words coming out of y’all mouth. Y’all not preaching the kingdom of Heaven, y’all preaching the kingdom of money. Go ahead and fulfill the many instead of the few. It’s sad to see so called believers not listening to Jesus at all. Jesus will say to y’all on that day- Depart from me you worker of iniquity-Matthew 7:23

Love this. Exactly why I started sharing money advice and my moves on my personal facebook and recently on this youtube im commenting from. and a third of my vids connect faith and finances. I think as christians we live in a poverty mindset. I literally know christians who are okay with living below poverty, like they said they are content...and even if we aren't in poverty we rarely share our success, and when people do they get called out for pride or vanity. and those who arent only know dave ramseys christian way. DR isnt about wealth and success its about being debt free and living a mediocre life, nothing to the full. This is an issue. we should know christian programs for successful and high wealth living, both in general finance and business

The Black Church is guilty of shoving Money is the Root of all evil scripture down people's throat without any nuance. There's the scripture 3 John 1:12 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers”. They villainize Prosperity preachers but money is a necessary tool to make a living. There's nothing righteous about being broke.
