Most Christians (including me sometimes) struggle to find the balance between the pursuit and identity of having PLENTY and the calling to NOT be mediocre in ANYTHING we do, as a reflection of WHO we serve. But that is the beauty of walking on the 'narrow road': we need to remain FOCUSSED and IMPRESSIONABLE to prevent us from feeling like we've arrived as every phase of our lives challenges that balance. Thanks for this topic. I've always loved the message you tried to convey through your music!

Scripture tells us plainly... which also absolutely is confirmed in actual real life... that love of money produces evil... we know this... nothing wrong with getting bread... but it cannot be something our soul clings do or what will we will negotiate our discipleship in Christ... and it also a portion must serve God... And also there really isn't "liberal" and "conservative"... yet other concepts we added that really we should ignore and just follow HIS example in my opinion...

If we're simply talking about earning or wanting money, then no, it's not evil, but chasing it is different. When we chase something, we do anything to get it. What we chase is our master which means we are serving it. We can't serve God and money.

In 2022, i got lured into the opportunity to work 2 full time jobs + one part time job unnecessarily while my wife worked a full time job. 3 weeks into that money greed and stressful job juggling, I got COVID really bad, turned into Long COVID for 9 month during which I lost all 3 jobs. Money = greed = one of 7 deadly sins. God was teaching me a hard lesson on the "love of money".

The ever expanding gap of the haves and have nots is a clear indication that the blessing are being hogged somewhere. Material possessions are nothing more than a false sense of one's self worth. There is nothing wrong with enjoying the fruits of your labour. However the idea of blessings is to receive and pass on. I pray the next epidemic be one of people passing on blessings. Wanting to be able to afford a comfortable life for your family isn't an issue. If you're earning money to buy the next luxury car then yeah that is where it becomes an issue. Even for myself I'm dropping some decent money into a computer, but that is for work, continuing my education, socialization, spreading positivity and other productive things. It's not just to show "Hey look at what I can afford!". Once something loses any sense of usefulness, productivity, benefits or stuff like that I think is when money becomes an issue.

Yeah I can identify with this one. I’m a computer nerd (Apple specifically, per my username 😉) but I was chasing money just so I could drop a couple G’s on the latest high-end Mac, for status and bragging rights but also for my own self-pleasure, and it got to the point my house is packed with tens and tens of Mac computers. I’m thankful it’s a rather strange infatuation with Macs, rather than porn or drugs or something, but I know I still need to ask for God’s help on that as it’s a temptation and struggle to not blow my money like that.
