Good on you for shouting out Hagen - his channel is great and he seems like a genuine dude. If you look at what the Googan squad did in bass fishing and basically made a mint - you, Justin, ChattCats, and Hagen could for sure make your own catfish gear company and shift things. Rods, hooks, whatever. The Googan guys knew that at the end of the day sales is what makes a company, and all the other guys would be terrified if y'all decided to get into it.

Yup. Ten years ago my fishing hobby started getting to be more important than my job as a Master Electrician. In my younger days I was blessed to have a father who could afford to travel for fishing/camping. I developed the hobby in the same way. In my mid 50s I started working less & went back to travelling for big fish. Now I'm 65 and retired mostly except for a little side work. Last year I covered 9000 miles to camp and fish. I am at peace with myself and with the world. My only regret is that I have no son to pass this down to, as my father taught me. Best of luck on the big Kitties Dave.

oh no you sold your fender guitar and amp! damn what a sacrifice... Well son... that is one reason I like to watch your videos.. you give an honest showing of what fishing is really about.. as they said when I was a pup "some days you eat the bear and some days the bear eats you!" It ain't just going out and catching the big ones and a hundred every time... sometimes you got dogs barking and people shooting and the fish have all gone to the poker game.. then there are the times when that big ole chuck comes by and says "hummm dinner!" .. (Damn I 'member them old amps.. Whooo hoo sound good!) Well, I comment as I watch these videos (it is kind of like talking to a friend) you have made a friend here.. and that was a real nice money fish.. Carry on! Have a great Christmas season David..

When I’m not fishing I’m watching fishing videos on KZbin. There are tons out there. Some I like, while others I don’t care for. So, what makes a good fishing video to me? Videos like yours that offer no fluff, advertising, or BS. Just straight fishing, talking about fishing and, life in general. People like watching others enjoy their passion and you certainly offer that with a great personality to boot. In fact, I wouldn’t mind seeing a bit more guitar playing occasionally. You’re entertaining and always offer good advice to help me catch more fish. I know it’s a lot of extra work editing and creating videos and I appreciate that you do. Thanks!

Catfish Dave, I follow you because of your ability to be real in your videos and the tutorials. I've applied you're techniques to my fishing waters in Lake of the Ozarks and now seeing larger fish. You dont sugar coat your feelings and what you see is what you get. While not holding the music ability or fishing skills you have mastered, I do share the catfish passion and hope to one day to land that once in a lifetime triple digit dream fish. Keep up on making your entertaining videos and well keep watching. Like you said, even the trolls are "Views". Keep clear of the Ocean Cruisers and keep the Little Debbies fresh. Thanks again Randy from Camdenton, Mo.

I'll be the first one to admit that the first video I watched I wasn't a fan of catfish Dave. But youtube kept recommending the videos I watched out of boredom. But the more I watched the more I began to like the videos and now you're one of my favorite fisherman to watch. I've caught several 20-30 lb catfish and e few 50-75lb fish it's a hard thing to go out and consistently catch the "money fish" and I know that in the real world it doesn't happen every single trip it's good to see someone not sugar coat the sport and actually tell it the way it is!

Dave, what sets you apart from the other youtube fishermen is you are being you. I can tell who you are on your videos is who you are in real life. I see these other guys who put on a fake face and are always active chipper and fake. You aren’t afraid to complain when its too hot out or if you are having a shitty day. You are being a human being that we can relate to. I wish i could fish with you one time. I am an introvert like you and i would not talk your head off. I hate when i go fishing and strangers walk up on me. I usually fish at obscure spots at the Ohio River. I have a few secret spots that no one knows about except some boaters.
