Dont feel bad also why are you even worried about how other people see you? I'm in your same situation! I actually left my 6 year relationship because my partner wanted me to spend the money I made accomplishing my goals for a home and wedding! FUCK THAT! I left her moved back with my parents paid off my student debt and the remainder I thought myself how to trade stocks. My job pays 30k after taxes but what propelled me was the fact I also learn how to wholesale real estate since I have experience in sales did 4 deals to pay for my worthless school. What's impossible to find is women who actually care about financial freedom all the females I encounter in new Jersey and NYC are straight consumers and just a bill so this is definitely good to find this. Cant wait by July I'll have about 20k saved for a downpayment for my investment property hopefully I find something since everything is so expensive around NYC and jersey

There are sooooooo many people on youtube talking about paying off debt while living away from home. Please find those channels, I think they could inspire you!!! I see where you are coming from 100% but this comment does strike me as unnecessarily resentful. Like OF COURSE everyone's circumstances are going to be different. It could just as easily be the case that you are living away from home but make 2x as much as someone that still lives at home. You can't compare like that and stay healthy/sane.

Then I know exactly what I’m going to purchase while I’m there and not buy a bunch of unnecessary food that will either go bad or I not end up not even wanting. Hey Erin, this is my first video that I've watched. I totally resonate with you girl! Discipline is everything, it applies to every aspect of our lives and everyone can do so much more if they grind through. I'm applying that not only in my savings but in my health as well. I got to do my exercise everyday, not a big fan of the sweat and muscle aches but its short term pain for long term gain. I'm also living with my parents at the moment and I don't give a crap about what people think; I'm not spending $1000 a month for rent to look independent in front of my friends, I am not freeloading in my parents' house either. I gave them rent money (better giving to family than strangers), cook dinner, clean the house and basically training myself to be a responsible and productive adult in society. Don't live for others, live for yourself.

I decided to only go to the store when needed and have my list and stick to it. I have a side gig that paid for my front brakes, now I'm paying off my back brakes. Now a days I'm too cheap for the garbage food. I keep it simple. I hope to save 1000.00 by the end of the year. I don't make much so this is big for me. Glad I found your channel.

Awesome content!! I am now a serial saver as well. My goal is to save 10,000 this year as well. I saved the most I e ever done last year all while preparing for my wedding in August. Anyone can save, like you said, you just have to choose discipline over your feelings! Keep the good content coming! ❤️

These were some great tips. I installed the Digit app a couple of years ago, set some goals and uninstalled it. I just went to check it after hearing you mention it and WOW!!! I linked an account that I don't use and I am just floored by the goals I set and I reached them both. Thank you!!!

Thanks for the video! I am 47 years old, and also live with my parents and have been for 46 years. I don't pay rent or Utilities, but do contribute to the household. I even offer my services of gardening, cooking, cleaning, and any other odd jobs. My parents love it because I help them with the computer and when the TV goes down. Everyone benefits and I have saved thousands of dollars as well as them. I really don't care what others think. It works for us. Good luck with your entrepreneurship!

Love the honesty in this video. We all do what we have to do; and in these times that means having multiple side hustles or moving back home - which I did a few years ago after getting laid off from my last corporate job. I decided to freelance and still finding my way, which includes figuring out the money part. So knowing that others are in the same boat makes me feel less scared.

I admire you young people who have your head on straight. I am a baby boomer and I am working toward debt freedom. And it is going to happen for me because it's never too late to start doing the right thing. If I could go back and made different choices I would have saved anything consistently, I would have invested in a 401 K and I would not have gone into credit card debt. Learn from me and don't fall into the same traps. If you start saving now you will have a pretty decent nest egg. I also would have made being frugal a fun game. I am making it a fun game now because being debt free is the Thing Motivating me. Can't wait to share that day!!

I’ve tried several times but there is something ticking in me that is saying failure this time is not an option. I am going to take these tips and go really hard to one increase my side hustles to help me out but my first goal is going to be $250 a month and then by October of next year I’m shooting for $1,000 a month saved. My biggest issue is food and also not tracking my money. One thing I think I need to do is stop using so much cash so that when it comes to tracking what I’m spending on I can’t find a paper trail. Thank you for this vid! Heard you call it out in another video of yours. I definitely took notes!

Really useful tips, thank you. The best one of all in my humble opinion is to stop trying to keep up with the Jones's. We waste so much money trying to impress people who don't like us anyway! Also, I'd just like to add that you can save a lot of money by re-using and up-cycling things you already have instead of buying new things all the time.

My weakness is shopping and when the clothing stores have sales. Gap, old navy, amazon, children’s place, Carter’s, Oshkosh, Nike outlet😩😩😩 I just recently had to remove myself from a lot of those emails because seeing them made me weak and wanting to buy stuff knowing I don’t need it. Thanks for sharing those tips. I’m also doing a no spend for at least 15 days out of the month and see what I save. I been meal prepping my food for lunch and dinner and it makes it a lot easier to keep from buying lunch while at work. I’ve also been budgeting and giving every dollar a job to work on my debt, raising my credit score and manifesting in my dream car and home.

The thing I love about this is that you're showing it's not about how much you make, or what your income or life looks like...it's about having the discipline to examine YOUR OWN circumstances and make the hard calls and short-term sacrifices to set yourself up in the long-run. Because the truth is, there are only 2 ways to save money: find a way to make more or find a way to spend less. But both of those require serious discipline and the right mindset to accomplish!

I buy coffee and eat out. I realized that I was spending $300 a month on coffee and comfort foods eating out. I knew that was about $3,600 a year I could be saving and even more money if I invested it. So I started having coffee at home and avoid restaurants except on special occasions.

Great advice hun People always say things to me like how do you your fiance and baby love with your while family. My parents came to me and my fiance when I was pregnant and ask if we could live together for about 5 years . The point is to save money on both ends. Our house is a four bedroom and the rent is $900 a month. Monthly house expenses end up being about $1200 we just split that in half and save majority of our earnings and handle all other necessities.
