Hi Nabeel. Thank you for this video. Very informative. With regards to business VAT assessment. I supply only state departments so I need to be tax compliant on CSD. I received a VAT assessment from SARS asking me to pay an amount to them. Reason for the assessment is - code 3 burden of office not discharged. All supporting documents has been submitted but is not being considered. I have made every vat payment timeously to SARS. Even my CA cannot understand the reason for this assessment. What can I do?

Hi Mattley! Thanks for your comment and subscribing to the channel! The reason doesn’t sound familiar as it’s usually in “VAT problems” “burden of proof not discharged” What you can do is: 1. Ask them for a valid reason. They have to respond. 2. Lodge an objection. If this doesn’t work then 3. Appeal. 4. Hey Nabeel. I was watching the news this morning and the speaker was talking about the overwhelming debt that the country is in and mentioned the government dipping into pension funds. My parents are both public servants nearing retirement which makes me concerned. Could you perhaps give people in a similar position some recommendations?

Hi. Quiet good. I sent in my supporting documents. Sars sent me to the auditors. They insist I asked for R5090. I said no. They insist on medical receipts. I have none. Medical aid pays for all my chronic meds. I am 61 years and a public servant. A nurse. They have not paid me as yet. 21 working days have gone by. I consulted with them on the 29 Sep 2020. I made a second telephonic appoitment for 4 Nov to repeat my self.

Yes Reegz its most likley because some of us ows SARS money,Thats Why you got more money from your assessment calculation ammount,some of us is true loyal tax payers who never ows SARS even a cent,but you on the otherhand jus sommer gets more money that you sepose to get,and we just have to pay our assess of.?

​@@warrencarstens6593 It is a legal requirement that one pays SARS any and all taxes owed truthfully and on time. Therefore, paying your taxes doesn't confer upon you the lofty title of "true loyal tax payer"; it simply makes you compliant with the law. Much in the same way, I too am compliant with the law, having paid my dues accordingly. It just so happens that I use the knowledge shared on this channel to partake in other activities that attract tax benefits such as donations to PBO's, additional RA contributions and investments into businesses (some of which haven't yet taken off hence the rebate). And, importantly, I'm able to provide SARS with the relevant documentation to prove this. They don't sommer just pay out you know? You might be better served digesting the video's content rather than focusing your attention on the comments section.
