എനിക്ക് ഒരു പ്രമുഖ കമ്പനിയുടെ പൊളിസി ഉണ്ട്. എന്നെ ഒരു പട്ടി കടിച്ചു. പോയത് ഗവന്മെന്റ് മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിൽ. പക്ഷെ അതിനുള്ള ഇന്ജെക്ഷൻ അവിടെ ഇല്ലാത്ത തിനാൽ അത് പുറത്ത് നിന്നും വാങ്ങേണ്ടി വന്നു അതിന് 4000 രൂപക്ക് മുകളിൽ ആയി. ഈ തുക റീ എംപ്പേഴ്സ്മെന്റിനു അർഘത ഉണ്ടോ. കമ്പനി പറ യുന്നു അഡ്മിറ്റ് ചെയ്താൽ മാത്രമേ ക്ലെയിം ചെയ്യാൻ കഴിയു എന്നാണ്. സാധാരണ ഗതിയിൽ ഈ സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ പ്രതിരോധ കുത്തി വെപ്പ് എടുത്ത ശേഷം അടുത്ത കുത്തിവെപ്പ് എടുക്കുന്നതിന് ഡേറ്റ് തന്ന് പെഷ്യന്റിനെ വീട്ടിലേക്ക് വിടാറാണ് മുൻപ് ഒരു അനുഭവത്തിൽ നിന്നും മനസ്സിലായത്.

Few points unrelated to the issue discussed but related to medical insurance. (a) Even in hospitals which has tie up with insurance company, it is quite possible that one may not get the entitled room because of non availability. (b) Let us assume that one gets the entitled room, but as part of treatment one is in ICU or any other place other than the room, for those days , the cost of room will not be reimbursed . (c) Even for cashless treatments, be ready to pay for those items not covered in the insurance and the hospital retains a small amount to cover for possible non admissible items in the claim. (d) For planned surgeries , maintain contact with insurance company to ensure that necessary approval are obtained.
