This is a slide show I put together from a snow leopard noninvasive genetics survey I did in Mongolia back in 2007 with Dr. Bariushaa Munkhtsog (Irbis Mongolia & Mongolian Academy of Sciences) and our field team of local biologists and families. We did another survey of a nearby area (Gurvan Saikhan National Park) in 2009 that I describe in my chapter "Tracks of my soul" in Don Hunter's book "Snow Leopard; Stories from the Roof of the World". Funding and support was provided by Dr. Rodney Jackson of the Snow Leopard Conservancy. Couple months later, Rod and Munkhtsog followed our work up with a camera trapping survey of the same area. We compared the two methods in our Journal of Mammalogy paper. The references and links are also below.
