No band has made me smile so much the last couple of years as Leonid & Friends. It's both because there are so many memories after growing up with the music of Chicago, but most of all in the wonderful way they perform with 100% correct style and world class performance on all instruments and singing. I get still impressed every single time although I have heard this wonderful gang so so much now :) I love you all!

Watching this horn section, especially Andrey the awesome trumpet player, brings me back to my high school band days. Chicago, Earth Wind and Fire, and any number of ska bands suddenly became these wonders of musical exploration and discovery. Once you have the experience of playing in an ensemble of people who are all becoming passionate about music, you never forget it.

After listening to L & F "I've been sesrching so long" rendition I was wondering if they would dare to do Mongonucleosis studio version which is really hard to cover because of the big percussion and horns lineup. Those of us who regularly listened to the Chicago VII album automatically expect to hear "Mongonucleosis" kick in right after the last chord of "I've Been Searchin" So Long," especially after hearing Leonid and Friends' rendition of the latter. Now they've given it to us and we are so grateful for another superb replication. True, one must click on another KZbin video to experience the sequence with which we became so familiar back in the '70s, but a small price to pay to enjoy the musical brilliance of our friends from Russia and neighboring republics.

I really didn't think that L&F would even attempt "(I've Been) Searching So Long", given that string component. I'm glad I was wrong, Leonid just pulls a ten-piece string section out of his hat, and the result is yet another masterful performance. And now the next track off Side 3, Chicago VII, another great job! :)

As good as this song was in 1974, when I graduated from high school, what makes this cover so special is actually seeing L&F doing it! Their enthusiasm, energy, and sense of just "having fun" makes this "deep cut" from Chicago VII something really special. Keep up the good work, L&F, you are the best! Omg. I saw a quick glance at the bass. I still have my 1980 fender jazz bass but , I had a polished brass plate made just like the bass player and on stage people would complain in the audience that the stage light really reflected on the bass n into their eyes.lol. I never changed it.nice bass n I follow all your videos.totally amazing musicians.I’m 65 n gave up playing years ago and became a finished carpenter but I had 1/2 my life playing in bands.great sound everybody.

The first Chicago cover band I played in (16 years old) played this. I’m a trumpeter and the High D (concert) at 1:13 nearly had me passing out (when I actually hit it!) ! So great hearing Leonid and his friends playing Mongonucleosis!

I love love love the big (horn/brass) bands of the 70s/80s, i.e. Chicago and Earth, Wind and Fire. I've had the pleasure of seeing both live in concert, separately and together. Of all the concerts I've been to throughout my life time (I'm 67), that concert with them together is by far my favorite. This band makes Chicago (the band) proud. 🎶🎸🎷🎺🎹 Thank goodness for Spotify, you get to listen to songs you had no idea even existed.

It's just cool to watch a group of people from Russia perform American music live and do it so well and since you enjoy it, it just gives you the perception that they are better. They are just executing the charts well and any good group of musicians could do the same. The real trick would be for someone to write one of their own original songs and like it as much as Chicago songwriters. The songwriting is really the incredible thing. Don't make a difference how good the musicians are if the songs suck.

Sadly no - my guess is almost everyone who watches Leonid and Friends or has gone to a concert are already Chicago fans and probably already have all the music downloaded or on cds/vinyl (and even 8-tracks and cassettes). The only way Chicago will get a new wave is if one of their songs gets featured in a popular movie and connects with new gens.

I doubt it. I dig these guys. This song came out when I was 13. No matter where Chicago goes from here, the memories of 70s Chicago are the meaningful part of my childhood, This remake is a vivid reminderof those times. The memories are more meaningful to me than any current success with Chicago. Now if Chicago would re record the whole. Chicagovii and play it in Concert,, That would be a dream come true.
