When i bought my hardtail Polygon last year i didnt even consider looking at a full suspension bike because anything worth buying was over $1000 dollars. Things are sooo different only 1 year later!

I almost did the some thing. I didn't have a good experience with Walmart's Mongoose XR-PRO. I mean I rode it and upgraded to air shocks and hydraulic disc brakes but it was still limiting and kinda the wrong size for me. Polygon bikes look like the best way to go. I swore I would never buy a Walmart bike again... 6 months later... I just bought the Mongoose Ledge X1. I love it! It's just got good bones to work with. No more bushing in the rear pivots... real bearings. Love it or hate it, it has internal cable routing. I can't wait to upgrade the wheelset and own my first thru-axle TAPERED fork. For a little money and a little sweat, and a bargain here and there, I can have a decent full suspension bike that is arguably better than an entry-level Polygon bike in the same price range.

@@icypirate11 just way heavier, but full suspension bikes are allitte heavier. My cascade 4 with 1x11 is about 33.84. I do like the idea of the ledge but i have no regrets buying my Polygone.

Thanks for throwing this up, after Kev had posted about this coming I had been second guessing my X1 purchase, this kinda took that away, nothing here I wouldn't have been replacing anyway just like on the X1 so I feel much better about my X1 purchase so thanks again!

Awesome sounding setup! I too went 29 conversion and it seems to clear just fine. 👍 29x2.4 with continental crossings and tubes at 30psi. We’ll see the clearance when I go tubeless and lower the psi

Looks sharp! I'm interested in the price difference for the few upgrades it comes with compared to the X1.

I just bought the Ledge X1. I think I prefer 27.5's. The Mongoose XR-PRO 29er was just too big for me (5'-11.5") and much too squished in the cockpit. I have a longer torso compared to my legs. Reach is much more important for me. The X1 has noticeably longer reach compared to the XR. The X1 has and can also take fatter tires than the XR. I'm just glad _Big Box Bike_ companies are listening and offering these modern budget frames. It would be cool if there was a kit to screw on a thru-axle on the back and then we would be set... but for now QR it is.
@shoobybikes17283 жыл бұрын
Agreed on the XR-Pro. Mine always just felt like I was up way to high on that bike. Plus every time I turned the wheel would hit my foot. I’m 5’10” and the Hyper Hydroform fit me way better! The X1 is definitely moving in a great direction for bid box bikes! Thanks for watching 🤘

Thanks for the update. If it's a large frame, I'll be the first in line to get it, especially if it's around $500.

The 1 in the wild says medium and measures 17.5 from bottom bracket to the top of the seat post
@mapioskoloni97843 жыл бұрын
@@codyphillips48 I'm certainly not an expert, but he also said that the distance from the center of the crank to the top tube is about 15-1/2", and that's usually the dimension they go by when they measure MTB frames. Which makes it a medium.

@@codyphillips48 If you are referring to the letters on the side of the box that say 27.5 M on the side, then it is obviously the box for the x1. So, if we follow the logic that they stuck an X2 in an X1 box, the box would have the X1 specs printed on it, no? Who is this guy, have they posted any pictures of the actual bike?

Alright, I looked at the photos of the Ledge X2 and I think it's the exact same frame as the Ledge X1. I own the X1 and I noticed there is plenty of clearance to mount 29 inch tires. Looking at the X2 photos it really appears they did this and just painted the frame black. I think it's the exact same frame!

I went 29” wheels with bontrager at650 wheels and cross king 29x2.4 tubed at 30psi. Clears with maybe a .25” on each side. Will see what clearance is like with ghetto tubeless and less psi
