I totally agree. She was a young girl that was naive and infatuated that the most powerful man In the world was interested in her. He should have known better and she was taken advantage of. He then wanted to discard of her.

It's purely political it's a punishment , the people belonging to her her religion are behind it and she s an accomplice. Those people rule usa. And that's how she was able to work inside the white house and everything from now on was carefully documented.she s salome

I actually am shocked at how much appreciation I have for her now. Ive never heard her talk until now and I respect how candid and open she was. I dont agree with her even starting a relationship with a married man to begin with but everyone makes mistakes and she had alot of self esteem issues at that time and I think she's learnt her lesson. I kinda like her now!! I hope she goes on to have a normal healthy life.

@Carol Weinberg I do believe there is a God and you pay the consequences. She was young at the time and who doesn't make mistakes. Sounds like you are judging her if you believe what the bible says then you should know that God is the judge not you. I believe Monica regretted doing what she did. Sometimes bad things happen to you for a good reason. You can tell she is genuine and she has learned from her mistake. She will find someone that will love her and will let her children that she did make a mistake. If you love your children and don't want them to make the same mistakes you will let them know so they can learn something from it also. Monica and her family have gone through so much. I just thank God she or anyone in her family didn't commit suicide. Love you Monica and praying for you. Yahweh loves you that's all that matters. He will forgive you and never to remember again the mistake you made. He will wipe it away like it never happened. Amen He is a forgiving God even if no one else does. Praying for you in NM

This interview is very sad to me, mostly because it's 16 years later and Monica neither married nor had children. She's been branded with a scarlet letter A and it's really sad. Linda Tripp should be ashamed of herself for bringing all this to the forefront.

+RedLikeWine I agree. While she's alive and healthy and all that, this really did ruin her life. Yes, she brought a lot of this on herself, but I do believe she was young, stupid, starstruck, and naïve. A lot of other girls would've made similar choices in her shoes just out of sheer immaturity. I admire her though because she really has shown a lot of grace despite how this country and the media treated her.

Monica: "I would tell them: 'Mommy's made a big mistake.' Barbara: "And that is the biggest understatement of the year." After watching this interview, I have to say - I'm incredibly disappointed by the obvious bias Walters holds and shows in this interview. It's an insult to journalism if you keep preaching that you're fair and balanced but then do interviews like this.
@mahinhossain5446

+saara7860 It's funny because Barbara Walters herself admitted to having an affair with a married senator in her memoir but then shames Monica throughout the interview. Barbara is no better honestly and this interview made me cringe. And it's especially worse that a journalist preaches fairness and balance yet shames someone for an act which they committed at one point in their life

Lewinsky was not a "victim of Bill Clinton's abuse of power and sexual misconduct". It was an affair of two adults. If you watched the whole interview, she was an aggressor from the beginning. She loved Clinton and was very upset when he tried to break up. She said she was hurt a lot when the whole thing became public but how about the hurt she caused to Hillary and the daughter?

I was 5 and 6 years old when all of this was going down. Maybe 7 or 8 when this interview was filmed. As an adult, just now, I watched the whole thing thing, all 6 parts of this interview. It is a fascinating retrospective look at American (popular and otherwise )culture. This interview certainly speaks to the level of privilege, and even perhaps, entitlement, Monica Lewinsky was born and raised into. It speaks to her intelligence and her honesty. It also speaks to her youth and naivety. But perhaps more than anything, this interview, and the whole ordeal, speaks to the entitlement that President Bill Clinton covertly demonstrated throughout his career, and certainly his presidency. It saddens me that more was not done, said, or made of HIS choices, and his wrongs in this scenario. It is detestable, that in that time, more speculation, shame, and media coverage was thrown at a young intern, instead of an adult man and president, who inexplicably was more responsible. I will say this: affairs are wrong. Adultry is wrong. Cheating is wrong. And so, it was just super wrong, what the both of them were doing behind Hilary's back. But I don't think it is fair, the amount of salacious, damaging judgement Monica received. I think that Bill Clinton was in a position of power, and he certainly abused that power viciously, and that is not ok.

I'm so tired of people blaming everything that happened on Monica! To this day in 2021 I still hear people saying it was all Monica's fault! No! No it was not all her fault! People seem to forget that he was a grown man! A grown man who knew he was her boss! Who knew he was the Commander in Chief! Who knew he was a married man! Who knew he had a child! A grown man who knew what he was doing!! It was not all Monica!

Particularly in the earlier segments, wherein Walters is interrogating Monica about Bill Clinton having been a ‘married man’. Barbara Walters voluntarily signed a statement (perjury does feel closer to lying in open court) as to something specific about Roy Cohn. Walters stated that he, *Roy Cohn* was a man of *great integrity, and character*

@@Rayblondie one of the first things she said in this interview was apologize to Hillary and Chelsea. She knew she was wrong but she also is someone who had been scrutinized unfairly over something 2 people did, so she was reluctant to take most of the blame as people seemingly expected her to. You can be stern with someone while still being compassionate and Barbra failed to do that. Oprah would never.

I've been watching this mostly because I wanted to observe Barbara Walter's interview style. It's absolutely fascinating, she is not empathetic, she doesn't emotionally relate or tell her own stories, she isn't really surprised by anything being said. She has this great calm demeanor, and asks questions in a way which has a slight subtlety of tone which gives the impression that she really cares about how you feel.

Did we watch a different interview? I have to disdagree with you Kerstin. Making comments such as "And that is the biggest understatement of the year." "What are you going to tell your children?" In my view, she was very judgmental and tried to humiliate Miss Lewinsky during the interview all over again. Something that is bizarre; Since Barbara Walters herself admitted to having an affair with a married senator (Senator Edward Brooke) in her memoir. Which makes it fair to ask to he; What did Martha tell her kids about her affair.

Barbara Walters stood up to defended one of most vile pieces of sh*t in the country, *Roy Cohn* …she called him a man of ‘integrity’ and ‘good character’. Cohn had not let go of the throats of anyone, an-nee-one, who McCarthy decided might be either a communist, or sympathetic to to communists, unions, working people …) Roy Cohn was happy to help Trump fight the Nixon administration, who had caught him, for the second time, refusing to rent his apartments to people who were (…not white).

I am watching this after the passing of Barbara Walters. Kudos to Ms. Walters for creating a safe space for Ms. Lewinsky to tell the truth about the whole thing. People put overweight women through such hell; especially growing up in such a shallow Beverly Hills environment where looks are everything. If she was thin, I suspect this might not have happened. She had parents who loved her. I am so very glad that she fell out of love with Bill Clinton after he referred to her as "that woman" when he lied about their relationship. I wish Ms. Lewinsky the best and pray that she has good success both professionally and personally.
