I believe not if my understanding is correct it is powered by batteries and sends details through a supplied simcard (which I believe you can use your own)

Does the alarm make sound on the bike?

no it doesn't. You just get a notification on your phone and a call from the Monimoto number. For alarms its better to use an alarm disc lock :D

Sorry I didn't get the notification of this comment. The device comes with a sim card already (from them) but you can optionally put your own sim card if you want

yep, you only get the notification on your phone but the bike remains completely quiet
