Fantastic walk-through of Monitor's ceiling products! Honestly, I wish I lived in the UK so that I could buy though you guys! Understanding in-ceiling speakers is such a challenge... hard to compare models from different brands and then the big unknown of how they will sound once installed in your specific ceiling/room. Having a video like this that walks through one brand's product lineup is a fantastic resource! Any chance you'd consider doing a lower end brands lineup (Monoprice maybe?) and a higher end option (NHT maybe?). Would be helpful to have videos like this for entry level, mid range and high end.

I have a Monitor Audio HT setup. Which in celing speaker model should I prefer for Atmos and how many speaker? Do Atmos speaker need good bass? My room area is length 16 feet breath 10 feet height 10 feet

Hello, for only atmos in movies, are there differences between the c165 vs c265 idc? Are these speakers correct for dolby atmos/auro 3d or better a direct speaker?

Really appreciate your videos. Although I'm on the opposite side of the pond here in New York. Wondering if you think that any of the Monitor Audio Ceiling speakers with the pivoting drivers would do well as a ceiling mounted surround? Specifically I'm considering the CP-CT380IDC for ceiling mounted surrounds since I have no other wall options. I'd likely pair them with CP-WT380IDC for L+R and the CP-WT240LCR for the center. It's an open floor plan with high ceilings. I'll repurpose my existing sub until I can invest in a Monitor in-wall sub. Thanks and keep up the great work!!!

Hi Ken, thanks for the comment its appreciated, and yes the CP-CT380IDC will work well very as surrounds but I would personally look at the Monitor Audio C265-FX. The 8" drivers in the 380IDC may be slightly over specced as these speakers will be mainly used for effects etc. The C265FX have delivered great results in the projects we've listened to and will save you some money for the SUB. Hope this helps.

@@smarthomesounds Wondering if I could trouble you again. I keep watching your videos and wanting more! LOL. I'd really prefer to utilize speakers with a built in backbox for the surrounds so the C265FX may not be the best bet for me. I may also implement an automatic speaker speaker switch such as the MCM Custom Audio 50-8395 so that they can serve double duty as standard stereo speakers when not being used as surrounds. That said, would you have recommendations for speakers? I'm now looking at the possibility of the CP-IW260X as my front LCR speakers and I really want to match as best I can. Thanks again.

Hi great video...i was just looking at these speaker ranges a few days ago...and came across your video....i am building a 5.1.4 Dolby atoms ht right now....my room is 12ft x 12ft....which of these ranges would be best for Dolby atoms

Hi there, great question. As a rough sort of plan, you could go for something like the Monitor Audio C265-IDCs at the front for Atmos, then the C265-FX as the surrounds and the C265s as the satellite speakers. You could customise this set up depending on budget but this would give you a great Atmos set up! Hope that helps.

I've got 5.1 Monitor Audio Bronze speakers. I'm looking at adding 2 ceiling speakers for Atmos. I can get a pair of C165-T2's, for a good price. Would you recommend these for my use case?
