Wow Awesome. I'm saving up for the silver 300 7G. Can't wait for the silver 500 review. The Gold and Platinum are in a whole different level for their price. I'd love to hear those.

Great review. I have them in white, paired with my Rotel A14ii, in my main floor listening area. Love the combo. Incidentally I also have a pair of Qs (the 3020i) for my office system.

is it the upper midrange that can get bright or the treble?

@@ricstars95I think it depends what amps you pair it with. I don’t find the treble bright at all. I think these speakers are the most amazing bookshelves I’ve ever listened to, and definitely the best I’ve owned. They replaced a pair of Axiom M60 floor standers which my partner felt were too big for the living room or main floor. I have the M60s in the basement now (for two channel listening beside my home theatre setup). Note that the perception of ‘brightness’ varies with age. A very young child would find any speakers harsh compared to what an older adult would think of the very same speakers. It’s how our ears work. As we age we tend to round off our hearing of higher pitched sounds. So, one person’s perception of a ‘bright’ sound is never the same as another’s. The best advice is to listen to speakers before you buy. Personally I cannot recall ever hearing any quality speakers that sounded bright in a home setting. I have heard more than my share of harsh car speakers though.

Completely agree these are absolutely excellent speakers! I have had 100s of pairs of speakers and it is hard to find any fault in these.

@@ctr289 what amp? I use a marantz pm6006 at first I had a receiver and and poor speaker cables and it sounded bright but I changed to the pm6006 and higher quality cable and it sounds fantastic and perhaps leans to a darker sound depending on the recording. . It could also be that mine broke in during that time as well. The bass has really opened up after 100 hioirs as well.

@@revivehificanada I've tried with multiple amps. They're just bright and the dispersion is still too wide in the mid-highs (though better than the 6G). I now use a pair a Wharfedale and a pair of Revels. A lot better. The Silver are ok with some well mixed material, but they become painful with some brighter songs
