Gary Husband is the most musical person I have every witnessed! Acoustic guitar today, tomorrow Gary will be playing the green plant near the speaker, and it will be the coolest multi track recording ever! Everyone in my office loves my Gary Husband mornings! Thank you for being alive while I am! Been a huge fan since the 80's Peace from Detroit MI. How are you such a monster player equally on numerous instruments?

Gary you are Sublime, been a fan of yours since that first IOU LP. Your a true Musician. Met you years ago in ATL Ga with Allan. I was blessed to have dinner several years earlier with the 92 Band after their show. With Chad and Skuli and Steve thanks to an introduction through fellow Bassist Jerry Peek. I was floored by Allan's humor and how kind he was to me. We chatted for several hours. I was in Heaven. I told him " Your my favorite Musician Period" When the bill for drinks and dinner came Allan said your money's worthless tonight, l protested pointing out what a gift l had already received just getting to have dinner with Him and the Band. He said " If you won't let me buy your meal I'll be offended'". How could I augue with that. I still drift off into a Dream state when I think about the almost 3 hours I got to hang with the best Musician of the 20th and 21 century. I was the last one out the door of the Restaurant and someone was holding the door open. It was Allan! I know you have many Treasured memories being Allan's favorite drummer and dear friend. Your 1 of a handful of the best Musicians left on the planet. Thank you Gary for sharing your amazing gift. Your friend in Music.

Amazingly beautiful and most creative and original arrangement of 500 Miles High I've ever heard. Fantastic tribute to Chick!! He'd love it. Got to hear you talk to Chick as a guest on his Academy - maybe a year ago. I could tell he really admired you! What a compliment from a master! I was in Chick's studio a number of times over the years - what a gift to be able to interact with him - he made himself very accessible to all who wanted to learn from him. That's rare. Though I'm a guitarist he'd been influencing me since my teens with his incredible recordings starting with Tones for Joan's Bones. You know in the first pilot of his online Academy I got to help get it tested - so I asked him who was his influence - I'd always heard it was Bud Powell. He loved the question. The answer was surprising to me - probably others - maybe you knew. Horace Silver. Said Bud was too difficult. I also got to play a Bird tune for him he wasn't familiar with - actually my fav composition by Parker - unfortunately - I played it badly. But Chick was fine with it. Thanks for creating this!! Beautiful!

Who would have imagined Gary Husband, playing guitar to a drum machine?! And STILL my favorite drummer. And appreciate you not wearing only tiny, nylon jogging shorts, like you've been known to in the past.

Dear Mr. Husband, you're a real musical hero for me. I discovered you listening to one of my favourite artist, the great Allan Holdsworth, but in the years I have understood your greatness. I can't believe how you reached the highest quality in so many different instruments, in composition, arrangement and all the other musical stuff. I'm stunned everytime I listen to you. There is only a word for your "out of the world" level: genius!!!

Gary..."perfection" has no relevance. You took me on THE best journey with this amaazong performance and I loved every moment, every nuance, every twist and turn. You're just getting more intriguing day by day. Thanks for making and sharing this. How amazing that we can experience this from you, gratis. Genuinely... thank you 🙏
@saxtant3 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisCraker Perfection is the benchmark, the eternal checkpoint we all strive to grasp as musicians, to understand what it means to compare oneself to it in order to move toward it knowing full well it is unattainable. Gary is one of the few that would find it difficult to rest with simple repetition of memory, his musicality comes from his ability to challenge recital with improvisation no matter the audience. This is what I respect most about him. Sorry for any misunderstanding of what my intentions were. To remain fresh every time you play is a risky proposal, many will misinterpret it as an inability to recall, when really it's an acknowledgement of mortality and the need to keep moving forward.
