According to police the odor of marijuana in the vehicle lead to search where plastic bags containing 6 grams of cocaine were discovered. He was then charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, which is a second-degree felony in Texas carrying a potential prison sentence of 5-99 years and a fine of up to $10,000. The assault charge for the football incident was still ongoing at the time of his arrest.

I kept the score one year for a few high school football games. I was considered an official and had to wear the stripes. My first game, one of the other officials told me to take off the stripes right after the game and leave right away, because officials tend to catch a lot of crap. My mother was my influence, she taught English at the college level, my dad was born in Mexico and never made it to HS, but he had a strong work ethic and these genes are all I needed. Not everyone in my family did as well, so genes aren't a guarantee, it comes down to the person making their own decisions, and that is on you. I couldn't care less about color! This is not new in Texas Football. When you hold up athletes more than scholars then that makes people arrogant. The coaching staff is to blame IMO. As a coach I would have pushed him to ground not calmed him down. He was hurting the team.
