NO HE CAN'T! Although they thrive in the wild in many environments it is a mistake to think a tame bird that is released in to the wild will do great. 1. Tame birds are bonded to people. 2. They haven't learned about predators. 3. They were hand-raised and may have great difficulty finding food. Etc. Etc. The list goes on and onl

We also have these cuties in Phoenix AZ. It's amazing how resilient they are. I hear that the Power Companies hate them bc of their nesting habits. They are so smart, adorable, and personable, hope to see them hanging around my yard one day. I spoil my outdoor animals. The birds and lizards come daily to be fed. The lizards wait by my door, and the birds will screech loudly if it's past 9am, and I haven't put bird seed out yet. Today I put out homemade suet cakes we made for them. 💕

Sanday Sunday thank you for being so kind to all the wild birds specially my Monks I have one his name is Bubba have him a little over a month he was caught by a lady in Rhode Island she had no Idea how to train him she ended putting him on craigslist that's where I found him. He was going hungry on a nuts only diet.(no pellets or fruits) he screamed all the way home. Until I fed him mix vegetables and fruits and put clean water on his bowl,placed him near a window to get sunlight and sang to him for the first. Now he calls for me, flies towards me and let's me scratch him he even takes my finger with his claw to tell me where he wants to be scratched. Did I mentioned he learns words that he only hears? Yeah They do that too.

The Argentine parrot or Cata del Paraguay, 1 2 Argentine monk parakeet or monk parakeet, (Myiopsitta monachus) 2 also known as monk parakeet, green-eyed parakeet or parakeet, is a species of the Psittacidae family. It is 30 cm long and weighs 140 gr on average. It is characterized by its light green color, more grayish towards the chest. Horn colored bill and grayish legs. The species is naturally distributed in South America and has been introduced in numerous countries around the world. In Mexico it is considered an invasive exotic species and has been observed in most of the country. It adapts very well to different environmental conditions, whether tropical, temperate or cold. UCN2019-1 ranks the species in its least concern category. This parrot is prized as a home pet. 2

These are probably either feral monk parakeets or descended from them - they're native to the mountains of Argentina. Thankfully, unlike other foreign species like starlings, these guys don't eat the natives out of house and home. Indeed, they actually don't fare well in non-urban environments outside their native range.

Thousands of Monk parakeets and Indian Ring Necked parrots are scheduled to be killed in Seville, Spain as part of the city's plan to eradicate them as an 'invasive' species. Most species of animals were non-native at some point in time. If you would like to find out more, please help me in my cause to save them : chng.it/t9WfmLTF

Invasive species cause an overall loss of species in an area by killing endangered species (or by killing a common species causing it to become threatened/endangered). Invasive species can cause ecosystem collapses that can stop clean water from flowing or even dry rivers out. This means more dead, and possibly extinct, animals and plants because of an invasive species. Natural introductions do not happen fast enough to cause a greater loss of species. The introduction of these parrots to Seville was human and not natural. Invasive and introduced are different. Nothing wrong with introduced, but invasive means danger to a sustainable ecosystem. Capturing and moving the birds to a new location would be a more ethical move for Seville.
@ShadanA
@ShadanA 4 жыл бұрын
@@user-vr2qp2hi8z These birds DO NOT KILL other birds, There are absolutely no scientific reports or papers at all whatsoever, that these birds threaten other species, nowhere in the whole entire world, including Spain and including Spain. NONE WHATSOEVER!
@user-vr2qp2hi8z
@user-vr2qp2hi8z 4 жыл бұрын
@@ShadanA They could be outcompeting for food and breeding so much that it puts pressure on the food source because of their high population, which other animals could be using. This actually occurs with a species in the USA that's NATIVE, white tailed deer! White tailed deer had most of their predators killed by humans and those predators have different territories than they used to. Now there's not as many and deer eat away forests, changing how they succeed from grassland to shrubland to forest. This aids exotic invasive species like hedera and wisteria, and while beautiful these plants create a space where only they can live (essentially a desert with a lack of biodiversity and very few species supported). Now it is a human responsibility to hunt these white tailed deer until their predators recover their population. Look at what happened to Yellowstone National Park and their deer problem. Exotic invasive species can do the same thing.
