Nice content Lida! I’ve haven’t tried this set up I used mountbank urges on my monk with inner sanc stun and inner sanc bubble essences. I do like to play with flying kick Essence for damage with that setup I enjoy dancing and pushing people through the sanc for extra control. This build diva uses looks like a necro/wiz/dh killer. I found the issues were barbs and have sanc stun allows you to survive vs them the most.

Thanks, I typically played a very similar build to what you described. Would try to push all the barbs on point into the stun out of the objective. This build is definitely an assassin, get in do your work on the squishy targets and get out.

@@MinMaxRPG ya that family tree reforge is interesting tho. I think the same works for battle mage I’m curious to see any other classes benefiting. Unfortunately breaking the family tree for either beneficial duration or attack speed is always the case

Hey Lida, great content thank you. Can you explain the pros and cons between flying dragon/inner sanctuary/exploding palm? those are the 3 variations of PvP monk I've seen with zen/imprisoned fist/flying kick staying the same specifically flying dragon in this build / inner sanctuary + tranquility's gaze / exploding palm + reaching rebuke + crippling insight

Elaborating for all builds: Flying Dragon can be used to isolate targets, disengage, grant s, move over ground targeted cc etc. A negative is that it will always pull nearby enemies with you and sometimes that will limit its ability to disengage. Inner Sanctuary can be run with many different essences however the stun ring is the most common. The stun ring can be used to block off enemies coming from a spawn or funnel them into tighter areas when used near corners or paths etc. It can lose value against classes that have means to get passed it without triggering it and sometimes it's difficult to use abilities that don't guarantee value of some kind. I don't see exploding palm often, so I'll just talk about it in that specific build in question. That build gives a lot of ability to disengage and does fairly well when left to solo targets. The worst thing you can do against that build is chase as it's well equipped to just waste your time. In my experience the build tends to do best on defense where it's free to roam and jump around the map picking targets off.

I think Necro is very strong at 5k reso because you will be matched in games where you are higher resonance and can get a a lot of takedowns. You'll also be matched against 7k reso and can be an asset as support with cc etc.

I strongly feel Monk on PC is hands down the strongest way to play it in PvP. It's incredible how different classes perform better or worse depending on the device and I could probably make an entire video about it.

Barb is still very good on defense. The nerf to cheat death effectively makes Undying Rage more powerful. Non-Whale Barbs certainly don't have the burst they once did but playing ww and being a disruption is still effective. However, since most people chase the scoreboard a lot of Barbs have swapped to other str classes. Happy to make PvP videos for all classes as I rotate through!

Is there a matchmaking sysyem based on your res ?

The matchmaking is based off your gear and rating. Rating in particular has a higher ceiling potential based on your pvp score which is affected by health and damage. Both health and damage are increased by resonance. So, in short resonance will affect your matchmaking as you play more games.

Imprisoned fist is not useful when you are lower res, cause the longer you stay in one place, greater the chance of getting combo cced. For that reason you cant really stay on top of someone and basic them till you proc their gladiator, if you are in a disadvantage (res wise, which is always the case, unless you are 5k or even 7k res) killing someone with basics in the middle of opponents team is not possible. With the build that i showed you the other day you can dash a lot and avoid dmg as well as cc that opponents throw at you.

Yes, thank you for adding that perspective. Also, lower reso is more likely to have less Potency reducing the effectiveness of their stuns in general. I will make a f2p Monk video when I get the chance like I have for Necro and Barb so far but it will take me some time.

It'd be hard to top 4p Vithu's imo. Shield of zen will shield your allies and thus proc Vithu's for them as well. The Vengeance family bonus is activated by primary attack as well, so faster attack speed means more likley to proc it in short engages. 2p Vithu's extends the duration of bottled hope if you have it, shield of zen, flying kick damage buff, vengeance family bonus etc. This isn't to say that 2p Shal'baas 4p Gloom wouldn't be viable we're just playing at a time where most people want 100% meta. If you're enjoying it and having success that's all that matters and I'm a huge fan of build diversity so you got my support!

Important to note, this is only works on a high res build, you rock this under 5k res in top bracket, your zen shield is gone instantly and you die pretty quick. I see monks try builds like this all the time with under 5k res and they consitantly go 2-10, They see whales go ham with it and think it will work for them. The beefy zen shield is the key, At top bracket you need like 6k res for it.

Yes, builds can have varying effectiveness depending on your power level. I will also make a video of a f2p Monk build once I can get all the essences I'm looking for just as I did with Necro and Barb so far.

I was telling him I chose this match specifically because it was important to me to show the strengths and weaknesses of the build. Darrow's build can win the mirror match if you let the inner sanc chip away the shield of zen.
