Monk has just called into the office. He is bothered by you using the numeral 2 in the word that should be spelled together. He cannot sleep and he is running out of wet wipes as he tries to wipe that 2 off the screen. He is going from computer to computer just trying to get rid of the 2 at the beginning of that word on every screen. We had to stop him trashing all the computers in the office. Probably because it comes from the same script writer. You get that sometimes, even when you compare different serieses. Why are there no more seasons and episodes of MONK?! The role of his life by Tony Shalhoub-right after Peter Falk COLUMBO!

Probably ratings - but at least they wrapped up the one case Monk wanted to solve the most vs. leaving us hanging. And yes Monk and Columbo were both unique - I'm kind of glad they have not tried to try these again. Its all about the writing then finding the right actors that people will embrace.
@bj17832 жыл бұрын
Sometimes the actors really wants the show to end too. It’s like they tired of playing the same role. I mean, even Jim Parsons gave up playing Sheldon on the Big Bang Theory and even though we’re upset that these show have come to an end we just have to appreciate that they’re just tired too.
@jeffwerth27072 жыл бұрын
See AMC's Dead Universe as another example. Move on or announce that a season will be the finale. "Modern Family" was the same way - when the kids were young it was funny and winning awards. The writers ran out of story but ABC threw $$ at them for yet another season. Many shows end too soon...many more stay too long

@CotopaxiAH19682 жыл бұрын
This is so stupid and illogical: * "Any more soap? ... I meant any more soap in SF?" What a cheap attempt at comedy. Can the script writers really not do any better than this? * "Light me"... if he wants it so desperately, he's got the lighter in his hand.. why doesnt he light himself then? * "... I'm free" ... so in less than 30s he goes from "light me" to "the worst possible thing has already happened to me". Completely hilarious and pathetic. That happens when you try to squeeze the story of a murder case (which could have material for an hour when told properly) into 10mins because you want to devote the other 15mins of the show to Monk's oddities which hardly related (at best) to the case. * When discussing whether to take the case for $25k, Monk goes from "Noooo!" to going along with it without being given any new reason. If you have a phobia of some kind, it doesnt just go away, it needs serious treatment. How do you flip 180° in a few seconds unless the "Nooooo!" was just for the sake of it because the writers found it cool since it fills another few seconds of air time?! * Disher as a childish laughing stock: I dont see how the actor was prepared to play this role over the entire season. It is embarrassing and implausible. How does a person like this make it though police academy and then keeps his job for years. At the end of the series he even gets his own precinct to be chief? Oh please... * Monk holds his breath when in the same room with the patient who scratches herself but a few seconds later has no problem having a conversation right next to her... I really dont get this whole series. Is it trying to be a comedy? Then except for a few occasional scenes that are really cool (for example when Stottlemeyer uses comedy to show understanding and empathy for Monk) I fail to get it. The script writers arent very good. Stereotypical characters, hardly any character development. What I like is that it is not overloaded with words and dialogs and that there are quiet moments where the actors can just act and not simply deliver their lines. Big advantage over Psych here. Is the series trying to be about crime? Then they should have given more time (of an episode) to the actual case... which in most episodes boils down to around 10mins of the show. PS: I dont care about responses that say "Why are you watching it then" :) If a critical, non-idolizing post penetrates somebody's bubble I apologize in advance.
