I’m a soap maker and I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to make carbolic soap and gift it to my local monastery

With wholesome intentions, and after viewing why carbolic is good, yes a good idea. Any gift is good to give.

Interesting. I have very dry skin and am allergic to most soaps and detergents. Do you think this soap would give me an allergic reaction? Can you provide a link to the Amazon product you suggested so I can check it out? Thank you.

You will have to check with your dermatologist, but it might work well. Sri Lanka has many natural soaps as well. Life bouy made by Unilever is near to carbolic soap . It is their trademark product similar to aspirin is to Bayer.
