God that music. The way the actually melody dynamically transitions between scenes. And this was back in 1991! Almost. 30. Years. Why haven't more games with higher budgets done this since then?

Even the enhanced remake didn't have the music transitions... ridiculous.

Now that the Final Fantasy VII Remake has been released, check it out. Not only does the music dynamically transition between scenes, but once you enter combat mode it changes depending on how much action is happening - it becomes more intense when you're constantly attacking, and goes into a sort of sustained medium paced riff when you're just trying to keep your distance.
@hcdenton4 жыл бұрын
@@THESCUMMBAR I think the modern version uses "pre-rendered" music whereas the original version used the sound card/midi to synthesize the music on the fly. Even when you switch back to the "original mode" in the remastered edition you don't get the correct music.

Man. No game since has ever successfully emulated that adventurous feel of exploring the islands of Monkey Island, especially the eternal-night first islands of MI1 and MI2. MI3 was okay, but the series was basically done by that point without the original creator(s) (Ron Gilbert, Tim Schafer, Dave Grossman)
