To anyone trying to get into Pauper: I just bought this deck, and this is the most I've spent on a Pauper deck so far. I spent ~75 dollars on the whole deck. 35 of which I spent on two Oubliettes. And I'm INFURIATED at having spent 75 bucks on a deck. 75 buck. On a WHOLE T1 DECK, SIDEBOARD INCLUDED. it's cheaper than some Fetchlands, and it's still the most expensive Pauper deck I've spent on to date. Delver is ~60. Stompy is ~50. Goblins are ~40. What are you doing playing any other Constructed format? Play Pauper today! It's a Magical format.

Cool idea with paupers; kinda reminded me of how I set up a planeswalker type magic which was like EDH but with the regular 60 cards, a planeswalker removed from your deck and a -1 to cards that have their name like Chandra's fury would cost 1 less if you had Chandra as your planeswalker; barren moor is awesome.

No joke, my friend played against me using a variant of this deck about 2 months ago. I was playing a for-funsies Modern mono white build. He won about 20-30 percent of the time. Admittedly, my Modern deck list was a bit dumb, but this Pauper deck is no joke. For the format, this thing's a BEAST, and if anecdotal evidence says anything, it can even hold its own against decks running commons, uncommons, rares, and mythics. Definitely worth a try!

Actually, Dead Weight is also a good Enchantment that could take Oubliette's place, or be included in the Deck. I personally LOVE Liliana's Specters for this Deck, and a 1-of Okiba-Gang Shinobi is a fun flavour addition. Corrupt can also be a nice finisher. PS. 50 Shades of Gray Merchant of Assfondle. :P

Dead weight usually doesn't stick around after you cast it. It ends up being a worse disfigure 90% of the time/

Yeah! I really want to build a pauper deck. This format gets me excited as I like how competitive you can go with a 30-50 bucks deck. I'm still trying to find the right deck for me tho For what I've seen, i'd pretty much side some graveyard hate card like a Relic of Progenitus, because Gurmag Angler is dominating the format.

I can get behind Pauper deck techs all day. its the only thing i play on mtgo. to bad that half of this deck is 100% useless against one deck im testing now, but you know what? thats the best part of the format, the diversity of the decks running around in the meta.

You have no idea how bad chittering rats pisses people off. It usually hurts the opponent if they don't have a lot of card draw or instants. One guy tilted so hard he changed deck while asking me to keep using my deck. P.S. Pack Rat modern!!! Please!!! ...or Marrow-Gnawer Commander, eh, eh?

This may be nitpicking, but in a format where cheap commons is the staple, a deck heavily leaning on 2 cards of over 20 dollars kinda defeats the purpose. Now I love the tech so I will be building it sans oubliettes (how very French!) Now I am aware that 60-70 isn't much for a competetive deck these days, but us paupers can not afford such madness! And well, dirt cheap it is not. I'll be building my pauper decks with true dirt cheap cards, thank you very much! Still, thanks. Seems a heap of fun! p.s. In what universe is pestilence not (potentially) removal? And how about a NON enchantment BB option? I think the suggestion for just pestilence is a bit weak.

Hey wait a minute Chainer's Edict is only common in the online-exclusive Vintage Masters! In print it is either mythic rare via From the Vault or uncommon (Torment). Thus, you could not have that card in this format unless you were playing online. I don't think that counts.

Bloodrage397 Online Pauper has a banlist that is being updated. Paper Pauper (a different format because of different printings) does not have any kind of a ban list, therefore I recommend to play paper Pauper with online Pauper rules/ban list.

No Corrupt? Strange. As I don't really like Oubliette I prefer playing more destroy/sacrifice spells or Echoing Decay to hit multiples. Also Pestilence is a machine in aggro machups like Delver, Auras and Goblins... No Sideboard against Burn is kinda strange since you get destroyed by that. Contaminated Ground may do the work of Shocking Sands, I personaly play Wrench Mind over Duress but I see why you would prefer the second. Tortured Existence is interesting to generate devotion and get back the creatures you need (although not that good in a deck that plays angler). The last thing I say is Okiba Gang Shinobi may be slow and not that good overall but can get out of control really fast with his ninjutsu.

I'd love to see you or another channel do a deck tech on my deck it's called what's sphinx's deal. it uses the sphinx's Tutelage and dark deal it's practically a black Blue control but using a play set of each card run 27 land so when you hit turn 6 or 7 your running out of counter and kill hit a dark deal down trigger the Tutelage you draw say another 3 you hit a learn from the past cast that trigger again it's a hateful deck

I played Pauper myself last night and went 2-1 with my Mono R Burn deck that I'm sure would crush this deck...This was my list 4 Keldon Marauders 4 Lightning Bolt 4 Lightning Strike 4 Searing Spear 4 Searing Blaze 4 Lava Spike 4 Incinerate 4 Fireblast 3 Needle Drop 3 Chain Lightning 3 Shock 19 Mountain Sideboard 3 Smash to Smithereens 2 Flaring Pain 3 Molten Rain 3 Electrickery 4 Pyroblast I lost to U/R Delver Defender basically but that's because I messed up once by not Fireblasting his Nivix Cyclops. My other matchups were against Mono U Delver and 4C Slivers.

MBC in Pauper makes the game crawl down to a halt. More often or not they will just keep your board empty and just beat you down without even casting Gary. I had a few games on MTGO with this deck where the opponent will just forfeit and be like "I don't have time for this, sorry" once they know they are playing against MBC and the MBC have a good starting hand.
