Not to nitpick, but ‘being surprised in a way you probably don’t expect’ is redundant….the only way to be surprised is to not expect something….

One funny combo is Twilight Sparkle and "____": you can name "____" "Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity" and everypony wins!!!

Urza’s block was a powerhouse especially following tempest. Those 2 blocks together just screamed combo. It was when instant wins really expanded.

The worst combo I've ever come up with requires FIVE cards. First, Hunted Phantasm to give your opponent lots of blockers. Next, Belltower Sphinx. You need Mystic Decree to clip the sphinx's wings. Next, stick Nemesis Mask (or Lure) on your sphinx and attack into their army of goblins...then cast Hold the Line to make them all 8/8s and your opponent mills forty or more cards. I build a deck around it but never got to pull it off, because, well, it requires FIVE CARDS, and most of them aren't very good.

Just did an update on an old Ruhan deck, and let's just say it's really fun to build this guy with a double strike, multiple combat, unblockable theme to the deck. Malignus and Elbrus, the Binding Blade are like two secret commanders in the deck that can be surprising alternate win-cons, but most of the time I'm just trying to make Ruhan's attacks really count each turn and take opponents by surprise who may be sleeping on him simply because it's not known before each combat who he's going to swing at.

No idea why this was a recommend video for me weird KZbin, im hailing from 2024 a lot has happened with MTG did you guys know that there is a busted 2/1 Red Monkey for 1 mana that ramps you and essentially draws you cards insane right? On a serious note I still use some of these cards mentioned including Kokusho, the Evening Star + Mikaeus, the Unhallowed for my mono black deck, while using Massacre Wurm + Rune-Scarred Demon for my Yarok Deck and demonic tutor/vampiric tutor are always good the other tutors mentioned have fallen off though and Damnation doesn't cut it these days with all the indestructible around. What are the cards like in 2034 future watcher?

Dimir has to be the best choice if you're going for a Lovecraftian flavored deck, right? At least it seems that way to me.

Luminous Brood Moth, Kami of the Morning, and Priest of Fell Rites combined with every board sweep you can find and any creature that has entering battlefield effects, leaving battlefield effects, or both. Its especially hilarious when the opponent tries to board sweep you repeatedly and you still have a board. Combine with green so you have cards like Fauna Shaman to allow you to search out the exact combo peace you need and even enable the deck to be able you to resurrect huge, powerful creatures as soon as turn 4. My favorite target for this is just about any Eldrazi

"So with Jace's ability on the stack, state based action kicks in, Jace dies, goes to the bottom of my library as a replacement effect, i search your decks for a card, and grab Jace again. Repeat until your decks are empty of everything but lands. "What do you mean, you don't scoop?"

Despite how opposite black and white may seem, to me it somehow makes perfect sense. It's a kind of dangerous hypocrisy and outright lie I find in many who hold themselves in high regard, making or even forcing others to serve a cause that only benefits those at the top. It's a tale as old as history

I made a similar deck back around when this video was new. In the first game my opponent exiled one of my hedrons for me with a counter spell. My favorite part of that day was when during that game when someone asked me what deck I was playing and this guy who played competitively in standard tournaments at the time turned his head in the middle of his game with a confused look asked in a wtf tone of voice "Did I hear you correctly and you said you made a Hedron Alignment deck?!?!?!"

Chromatic Orrery, Timeless Lotus, and Muldrotha the gravetide are amazing in this deck. I too run a x mana and landfall deck with locus of all. Muldrotha is great for playing things out of your graveyard. Also just added Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur so we shall see how much fun that is lol

I'm a day late, but I'm glad to see cards like Balefire Liege and Assemble the Legion make it into this video. As someone with a Boros Midrange deck, I leverage both of those cards as my primary end-game gamble (assuming I also don't have Purporose on the field).
