I had a pretty nice pedalboard, but sold it when I switched to being fully kemper. I missed having pedals all these years, sold that all, and now building a pedal. The El Cap was an absolute favorite of mine back then, and I regretted selling it for the timeline, as I didn't really enjoy tweaking menu's to get the sounds I wanted. As I'm looking to get my next delay, I originally was leaning towards the el cap, but with this thing as an option now, I'm definitely leaning more towards it!

Awesome, man! By the way, I noticed that in looper, the recorded sound you put wasn't in "ping-pong" delay. But when you're putting another looped sound on top of it, it was kind of like in stereo ping-pong delay. I thought that once you put a kind of stereo delay on the looper, it will still sounds the same in stereo while looping another and another and another.

This sounds absolutely incredible. I saw the new space echo was $400 and I still think this would be the better choice. New DL4 looks cool too but this is next level

Explains all the used Timelines on Reverb and Ebay. I got my Volante last year, new from Sweetwater, and I can't imagine my main board without it. I run a DOD Rubbernecker on my small board. It's pretty good too if you like a dirty modulated repeats with tap tempo. No midi and mostly analog on the little board! Midi controller is the key to live times with Volante. It's one of my favorite all time pedals. Others on that list are my Deja-Vibe and Silver Lake Reverb. Hardwire Supernatural is a keeper too, great buffers on that for long cable runs to the rig. Some pedals wont do that well, but that's when Volante shines again. GREAT line level buffers for the end of the signal chain. It's top notch, real gear for real musicians. Made in USA, like much of the finest gear in the world market.

Hey Scott, you would be the man for me to talk too! I’m trying to choose between the volante, a memory man tt550 and a dod analogue rubberneck. I love how the memory man and rubber neck have their own gain/drive, the rubberneck I think has the most pleasant repeats but the volante here shows incredible versatility. I haven’t pulled the trigger on any of them because I have an el cap, a timeline and dm2. You can see I’m a delay nerd.. mainly for slap back (you should check out my video on the timeline and dm2) so.. You seem to have a few great pedals, what do you think of this predicament?
@AdrianWhyte4 жыл бұрын
Oh and I do find that delays can suck out of the main signal, the el cap is probably the worst for that, one of the reasons I am drawn to analogue delay with a drive option

Hey Antoine thanks for the video - I love my Volante and my El Cap too! I agree with you 💯 about your comments about both. One question I have is to do with the Volante SOS mode. Once I enter it, i don’t know how to exit it again. Do I need to power it off each time?
@MrClarkio2 жыл бұрын
Nice video, thank you. Can't ever really imagine needing 64 seconds of loop time mind, could make for a rather overlong open mic slot. When it comes to looping I'm more of a lock it and go type of person. Seeing as how you have the el cap as well, if you just wanted a good tape echo for playing live in a band with which would you choose?

For the same size, you can get the Strymon Timeline which gives you way more flexibility, options and presets. Or you can get the Strymon El Capistan which is smaller and can get close to the Volante. That's probably why!

I know, I have enough delay with timeline, but I am also a bit of a strymon collector and I think volatne just sounds the best ever in terms of raw delay.... I am more of a reverb guy (using nightsky and bigsky a lot) - would I really benefit off the volante? Many times I don't even put timeline to its full potential. I would not be able to sack timeline bc filter, trem, ice and reverse delay are very distinct nice delays I love to use. On the flipside, volante is fast to set up and you can play around with rhytmics a lot more on the fly without ever going into menues.... It sounds outstanding and the possibility to add heads on the fly is truly one of a kind. It is just as intuitive as nightsky, which I love over the bigsky for its tweakability especially when live looping through it... Goddamn, is this a case of GAS or would I benefit off Volante... Since I am moving out from home into a flat, I will not get new pedals anyway in the near future.... However, I will get a Meris Hedra for sure, which is a pitch shifter delay and can be used as a normal delay.... Volante still necessary then? And above all, is it fun enough then to justify buying it? or is it GAS? thanks and also nice video

Wasn’t aware of the panning option..first video I’ve seen of this feature being demoed...being a big fan of ping pong delay, having control over the individual heads AND placement of the delays is a godsend, just haven’t seen anyone else doing it..looks like I’ve finally got a replacement for my “getting by” setup of using my old Akai Headrush and trying different routing options into my Damage Control Timeline. Cheers for the video Btw, have you seen/heard the Echotopia by Crazy Tube Circuits? Well worth a mention, would be a very close 2nd to the Volante - warmer more agreeable sound (my opinion lol) although not as versatile..

Would you recommend the volante over the timeline? These two pedals are very appealing to me given the amount of versatility they offer. The timeline seems like the only delay pedal I'll ever need, but I think I'd primarily use dBucket and dTape, so I don't think it makes a lot of sense to buy it. Hard tp decide.
@mmhcreates3 жыл бұрын
If having more hands on control over the tape delay functions appeals to you, then the Volante is probably the best pick. Otherwise the Timline seems to do every delay well. I do not own either. But I am most drawn to to the Volante, also considering the Magneto.
