@@AntoineMichaudGuitar can the Timeline cover any basic type of vibes or tape echo sounds that the Volante specializes in?
@agerven5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this video. This Volante appears to have a very clear and beautiful sound. But listening to this video makes me wonder what the actual differences are between the Volante, El Capistan and the Boss RE-20. Anybody got links to more information on that?
@GNeuman5 жыл бұрын
agerven I've got the El Capistan and an RE-20 and they sound VERY different...the El Capistan is warmer than the RE-20 and has alot more headroom. The RE-20 doesn't self-oscillate very nicely either. To my ears, the Volante is also very warm sounding but does the Binson magnetic drum thing VERY well too which the El Capistan doesn't. Just sold one of my Dawner Prince Boonars to hopefully part finance one of these Volantes. I think they are superb. I also recently sold mint condition RE-201 to finance a Timeline, a Neunaber Immerse and some other pedals. It was a complete no-brainer, I got so much in exchange for selling "A Legend". I really think digital technology is THAT good now and who needs the hassle of maintaining 45 year old tape echo machines?
@agerven5 жыл бұрын
@@GNeuman Thank you so much. I'm very happy with this type of user information. For me one of the best things in the Strymon Capistan is its warm sound in addition with its versatility. It's probably inevitable that someday I'll have and use one.

mine should come in a couple of weeks)... think of timeclocking it with Timeline... I wish Timeline could send tempo midi cc...
@neonether4 жыл бұрын
Why would you want something in the fx chain sending out midi cc? If you're clocking tempo just set up your controller to send midi cc to each device you want clocked.
@MikhailMedvedev4 жыл бұрын
@@neonether ok, what about people who have NO midi controller? One could tap tampo on a single device (let's say Timeline) and then sync all the other pedals with it
@neonether4 жыл бұрын
@@MikhailMedvedev Either way, you'd have to have a way to control midi cc. Basically you want the timeline to be the controller, which might be able to be done since both are midi equipped...you basically connect the pedals so the strymon is sending and set the volante to the same midi channel so they can communicate. If I remember my conversation with strymon people correctly from earlier this year, it should be able to be done. The message can go through the timeline but I don't think it can originate from the timeline...
@MikhailMedvedev4 жыл бұрын
@@neonether that's what I wanted from my TL to control other pedals, but it cannot set midi tempo... Anyway I personally bought morningstarfx to do the job, but this midi tempo option could be useful. Talked to Strymon support about the issue - there was no way to do it the way I described above
@neonether4 жыл бұрын
@@MikhailMedvedev Even though it's not conventional to design pedals that way, I can see how having at least the tempo sent out would be useful in certain situations. That would be a pretty clutch feature. The morning star works and sends your temp through without issue?
