First off... I like it the way it is Justin - Dont feel that you absolutely NEED to put more work in it ....just sayin :-) I like your use of the dining room and table as the platform, nice light, homy enviroment, a few other small pieces in the background to view without taking focus completely away from the main feature. First song eccellent choice of music, complements the build....mellow, a bit understated. Last part...meeeh. Agree on too much in&out focus and maybe somewhat on the dust....still i know what a magnet that surface is. Suggestions. So you normally have your build mods pretty much pinned down when u set off. But then again in other cases stuff will get altered.. Whatever situation I suggest mixing in a few before/during/after shots of the main elements, be it the case, hardware and other feature mods. This of course warrants some careful planning up front. Not only on where to shoot the deal - both pre, during and post build. Angles, use of ligth...u know the drill. But also on the timelines and full catalogue on all your different still and video material. Downside is that it adds a crapload of work - still payoff is huge. Audience clearly sees the blank canvas and gets the notion of how much work goes in to these kinds of builds - merely by seeing a few small details in the making and the odd before/after shot... So to the final result. It all comes down to throwing in a light mix&stirr of all the different ways you shot and display your stills, video, timelapses.

This is all lazer cut aluminum, right? I don't have a laser cutter, I'm new to PC modding actually, and have nothing but hand tools and a few power tools. How could I build something like this myself? Its super inspiring :D

This is CNC milled out from aluminium. Although, I know that I could confidently make these patterns with a drill, jigsaw, dremel, files and sandpaper. All of my projects excluding just this one is made without the use of computer controlled machines.

Isn't aluminum extremely hard to work with with hand tools?
