Dave is the best board game teacher in the world. I wish I could play a game with him :D

@@GretSeat Hmmm... as far as I know I'm fine :) And happy to have not just lost weight, but not really gained much back for a long time now.

Love the added angle with the phone cam - perfect for showing off a game like this!

I predict this game will become one of the top 10 of 2023 - lots of little things working together in interesting ways but nothing amazingly complicated

Great job guys! While I'm hesitant to buy it (because storage space is now critical), this looks like a really good game, one I'd love to play.

I’m sure you’ve been asked this in recent videos, but I notice you playing with 3 players more often than the usual 4. Just curious if this was a deliberate decision (like you’re trying to reduce video time by having one less player) or just a string of recent bad luck getting a 4th to commit to coming on the show. A side question: I’ve also noticed that a few regular guests pre-pandemic have not been on much or at all the last couple of years. I’m thinking of Rusty, Mike, Mark, Rich, just to name a few. If you’re comfortable sharing (and totally understand if you’re not), would be curious to know why.

It has been harder to get four as we've had plenty of cancellations when someone doesn't feel well. As for the others, everyone is busier. Mike has been on several times in the past few months (we lost one of his and Deborah's episodes to a technical issue). We would love to see Rusty more. He is helping his father with health issues and has no free time. I keep reaching out hoping he can play with us again. Thanks for the note and for watching.-Lincoln

@@boardgamegeek Thanks Lincoln! I appreciate you sharing. I know Mike has been on a few times during this period. I recognize that he was probably not the best example of someone whose appearances have dwindled. I remember you mentioning recently that you tried to shoot an episode multiple times and couldn't publish Mike/Deb's version. I wish Rusty's dad the best and can't wait for his return one day, hopefully soon. And thank you again for your kind response!

I need this game, it's been just released in retail stores here in France. I love Patchwork, I really suck at spatialization things and psycho-technical tests but I love boardgames with these mechanisms(maybe I'll learn a few things on how to make the most of the spaces in my kallax!) thanks a lot for the video, very pleasant to watch! PS: Lincoln 's monolyth is so satisfying! (this game = OCD disorder triggering factor! ^^) PPS: if orange is the new black 🤔nope, let's forget it.

I suck at spatial type games, but this was super cool, I'd absolutely give this a shot. Thanks for the playthrough! 😊

31:30 - there actually might be a weird bias against finding the 2x1 (smallest) pieces when reaching in the box. Sort of like how smaller grains of sand will sink in between gaps between larger rocks (if you sift them), the smaller pieces would more easily fit into gaps between all the larger pieces and be less likely to be grabbed... at least early on... Later, when the box is more empty, the smaller pieces will become easier to grab and you might actually want them MORE in the later game to fill in gaps...

I wonder how seldom the smaller (2x1) pieces are drawn from the box as compared to any of the larger pieces. I think I'd prefer a deck of cards with a piece on each card a la My City.

Hasn't the first player a serious advantage for finishing "1st floor" before the others ?

Jonathan, we do pick what we want to play. Gamegenic does not ask us to play anything, only that we use their sleeves and accessories. We picked this one because it seemed fun and folks at BGG Con were enjoying it and recommending it. Thanks for the note and for watching. -Lincoln
