ANTONY GASANI EPISODE: On this week's episode I feature Antony Gasani,a fellow guitarist and music producer as he discusses hiw work with Charles Charamba and other projects. DISCLAIMER: I know my video quality and editing are not perfect yet, but please forgive me; I am working to improve. In Zimbabwe, if you wait until you have the right equipment, you will never start, so I had to start despite only having my phone as both a camera and an editing suite; thank God for modern apps that allow us to do so on our phones. But this is not an excuse; I am working to improve those areas. 'ARTIST TO ARTIST MONOCAST PODCAST STYLE': Every time I post an episode, a few viewers insist that I conduct the podcast like a traditional TV interview.I believe it will take away the program's uniqueness.I am an arts industry insider discussing art with another arts insider, hence the title 'Artist to Artist'.So the format of the program is for me and the guest(s) to have an informal discussion, rather than an interview in which I ask questions and extract information.I cannot extract information that I already know, but I can discuss the subject and share my thoughts. This is also consistent with the innovative nature of the podcast era, in which nearly every podcast has its own way of doing things. TYPES OF PODCAST FORMATS: According to www.brafton.com, there are eight different podcast formats in use today, which include: 1: Interview Podcasts, 2:Conversational Podcasts, 3: Monologue Podcasts, 4. Storytelling/Investigative PodCasts, 5. Roundtable Podcasts, 6. Theatrical Podcasts, 7. Repurposed content podcasts, 8:Hybrid Podcasts. The podcast format I use differs from the interview podcast format, which is typically conducted by a non-expert journalist questioning an expert about their industry; instead, it is a conversation between two professionals in the field, which is why the program is titled "Artist To Artist MonoCast." I use the conversational podcasting style, which involves a spontaneous discussion. These conversations are more fluid and resemble a natural dialogue between those featured on the podcast. As Alexander Santo noted, "This type of podcast requires a strong rapport among the hosts. If they are not well-acquainted or harmonious, the audience will notice." In contrast, an interview involves the interviewer posing questions, listening, and gathering information, whereas a discussion allows both parties to converse actively. In this scenario, neither party dominates the dialogue; they both contribute because they share knowledge of the subject being explored. Therefore, to summarize, these are discussions, not interviews. WHY POPULAR ARTISTS ARE NOT FEATURED: Additionally, there have been requests for the inclusion of famous singers. However, I choose not to feature them, as this program focuses on individuals who work behind the scenes, unlike prominent band leaders and vocalists who are typically the subjects of all other interviews. My aim is to spotlight those often overlooked by podcasters and interviewers due to their lower profile, even though they possess tremendously valuable insights. COMMENTS AND CORRECTIONS: Although I welcome tips and advice, I am not pleased with the tone used by some followers. It is clear that some of the comments are meant to discourage the effort. If you have any suggestions, there is no need to be rude or dismissive. CONCLUSION Ultimately, Artist To Artist MonoCast is not about pursuing high numbers, or chasing controversies for increased views; my priority is to preserve the history of Zimbabwean music and impart knowledge to future generations.

Great episode, learning a lot about our favourite music from our days. This podcast has made me appreciate more the breadth of the work done by every band member to create the final sound. Keep on creating more content mukoma 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. Would you please bring on Zacharia Zacharia, would want to hear more about Khiama and the evolution of Mberikwazvo and sungura in general from his perspective.

Very important point raised there .don't play the guitar as per the music of college notes but from the soul. Tough recording studios created true artists and timeless music a point tou have raised before. All in all a captivating monoversation. I think magitare ndeemarombe comes from the education system in our republic, cramming. Go gospel you're accepted. Maybe a topic for another show ," why is gospel music more accepted than circular music ?"
