I also wanna add that coconut and egg does not work because there is no gluten from flour. The idea itself is very nice, also please consider that cooking on coals can bring heat very fast and you don't want it for pancakes or they will stick. I hope I helped.

I want to find Maitake in the wild so badly. Andrew, my friend, in response to one of your statements at the end sadly not all struggles pass. Some struggles people are born with, must live with, and will die with. The key is to learn to love the little things and develop hobbies that you love, but you know that.

Guys, I LOVE YOU. But heres a CRUCIAL piece of advice I hope you hear... DONT CHANGE A THING. The minute you tell someone that what theyre doing is MAGIC, they get a big head or just start changing things because they think they have to try harder to live up to all the praise. But the casual feel of these videos and how youve been doing things is what makes it so special. Just DONT CHANGE A THING!!!! My absolute favorite channel for EXACTLY what it is here and now. And as long as you guys keep doing exactly what youre doing, I KNOW more of this world will soon appreciate it as I/we all do. DONT CHANGE A THING! Its perfect. So casual like we all get to really go along and hang out with you. I love it.

Also I want to give you more input if you care to hear it... The length of the videos is PERFECT. Just over an hour is absolutely perfect, any less and it wouldnt be the same AT ALL. Its A JOURNEY, everytime!!! And camping MORE THAN ONE DAY is also ESSENTIAL to get the same feel!!! Cause every full length video is LIKE A MOVIE!!! That we get to go along on!!! So thats also 100% CRUCIAL! (for the same effect) MULTIPLE overnighters, and at least an hour and 15 min video (Like yosemite which is SO GOOOOD!). THATS what makes you guys magic. I play guitar and watch, and absolutely love every second. Again I wish to thank you and all involved for your hard work.

Thanks so much for the comments! I definitely want to do more trips with more than 2 nights, but I agree - having more than one night really makes things feel like a true adventure. And it's funny, a while back we were debating video length among ourselves, because we were wondering if shorter videos, or videos cut into segments, would get more views or be more enjoyable to watch. In the end, I'm really glad we decided to keep with the long video length. Thanks so much again for watching! -Andrew

In May of 2017 I was on this trail and most of the others in the Tea Creek area. Later I stoped by the rangers station in Marlinton, WV and asked them to put this area on the trail maintence list as it really needed it. Tea Creek has some of the most challenging and beautiful trails. Happy hiking!

This video fed my spirit. I've been to that national park. It has always been known to be rustic and rugged. Its visitors wouldn't have it any other way. It used to be full of mountain lions (bob cats) but I don't know about that anymore. I grew up in WV but left during the early 1980s. Beautiful part of the country, "Wild and Wonderful" indeed. Your collective enjoyment of the area made me PROUD. Thanks for recalling for me so many memories through your hiking adventure there! ❤❤❤ your channel!

I have a river Camp in this area and this forest is my “back yard”!Really like your botanical observations too as there is a lot here. You will also find the Red Eft, the juvenile stage of theEastern Newt in abundance here which should tell us that this environment is extremely a healthy and thriving one. I will check out your other travels too. Thanks for a quality fun video!

Epic! Folks, you've made another great video. It's great you're willing to share the ups and downs some trips take; you always keep going and succeeding. I've been badly misled by mapping apps in parks and the back country. And I've used several online and offline apps. It's rare to find the standard apps with topographic features and accurate roads and trails. So I usually use apps to get me to the general area via main roads and then use a USGS or similar high detail topo map. Analog maps have saved my ass many times. The US Forest Service maps don't always have enough detail or context, though a lot of the regional stations have better maps than what you can find online, and most of the folks in those stations enjoying chatting with hikers and visitors. You can sometimes get great suggestions and advice on things to see and do speaking with the Rangers and staff. Anyway, it's really easy to get lost in the back woods at night, especially if it's you're first time in the area. Y'all recovered well and got some real rewards from having the drone for aerial recon. As always high quality video,audio, and editing. I'm looking forward to the hopefully coming sometime soon Japan episode. Especially the mystery night Cheers!
@AdventureArchives
@AdventureArchives 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! Yeah, we definitely need to get more of those topo maps beforehand, haha. I have definitely noticed a lot of National Forest maps that are available online leave a lot to be desired. But yeah, I've always found the best thing to do when planning a trip is to chat wit the rangers as well, even if it is through a phone call. Of course, they appreciate when you've done some prior research, but talking with somebody is such a good way to clarify things. Thanks again for the kind words, thank you for your support, and I hope you enjoyed the Japan episode! Cheers! -Andrew

Thanks for helping me get through the winter, guys. The camera work on this one is exceptional. I've watched backpacking videos by others and I don't think anyone captures the essence of really being out there like you do.

As an Ohio native, I like the way you capture the essence of regional woodlands. Now I live in CA, and if you want to do something out here, highly recommend the Trinity Alps Wilderness for its beauty and accessibility. Thanks for sharing your wealth of experiences.

Looks like a beautiful place, we'll definitely have to keep that in mind! It's funny how much the woods in this region feel like home, whereas wilderness out west feels like a some sort of grand destination on an adventure. Thanks for watching! Cheers! -Andrew

You guys are awesome! I watched this video while treadmill running today. Tomorrow is my dad's birthday, so the part about autumn and loss really hit home. It is this loss that reminds us to be thankful - yes, for all we have, for the relationships in our lives, for the sky, the stars, the Earth; food and water, etc. Even though we lost my dad to cancer and COPD almost two years ago, I am thankful for the many years we had with him and all he taught us. And I thank you! BTW, I did my masters at WVU - Go mountaineers - and taught dendrology in the forests around Morgantown - so this video is even more special to me. Check out Coopers Rock State Forest some time - as I remember, the biota is quite unique.

Go subaru!!!! I have owned two in the past few years. They are tough ass little cars. My first caught on fire and drove home. (rear end got hot) I fixed the rear, and than drove it for a few months more before the transmission went out. That subaru had all wheel drive, and could plow through anything. It was the campmobile with my freinds as we could pack everything we need into the bag and still be comfy for the drive to the trail head. Second Subaru is my current one. 255k miles and still rolling (knock on wood).

It's definitely nice having a reliable car, haha. It's funny, the way that exchange went it sounded like some commercial, but it was just us trying to figure out if the car would be able to get through the rough road. Cheers! -Andrew

Great Episode...like bushwacking with markers. AA rituals include arriving after dark, whittling cooking utensils, and mid night storms (just missed you this time). I'd love to see a behind the scenes vid on production...especially the music. Peace

The spine Brian use the SPINE!! of your knife on ferro rod.. You're killing your edge. I'm surprised Andrew didn't yell at ya for that! ;) Love the coconut pancakes experiment. Just so much fun to watch because you have such good humors about the ups and downs, it makes it fun for the audience!

Haha, yeah it was andrews knife, but he uses the edge and doesn't care if we do because he sharpens his knife constantly. He also says his knife doesn't have a sharp edge on the spine so it doesn't work that way anyways.
