The thing is, they could have gotten rid of the Monopoly stuff and did an awesome Mario Kart game. It’s got racing and powers! The license is being wasted by trying to keep the Monopoly branding.

Take a look around you and you will be aware of "many license" problems but we don't bother about those because THEY ARE NOT AS WELL KNOWN OR INDIVIDUAL AS IS MONOPOLY.

Monopoly gamer is good because it might be the only monopoly game able to break through the standard tropes of this game so much and create a new and interesting experience that also will not take 4 hours. More monopoly games need to be this unique. Now that the standard has been set they need to break it.

Poor poor Luigi, but I think the richest moment is when you can hear Roy (at least I'm pretty sure it's Roy) in the background, "You just go round and smacking stuff with a mallet."

My group of friends played this and instead of the games race mechanics on passing go we actually played the map in Mario Kart 8 and it made it quite a lot of fun. Made it last a lot longer, but hey we were just all hanging out for the day so no one minded.

This is the exact same game but they swapped out blooper for the banana peel (an improvement if you ask me). Races are cooler too.

This is such an improvement on Monopoly! I love this game, but it did fall a tad short of being 100% awesome. So in keeping in monopoly fashion, I altered the rules to make the game even faster, balanced, and feel more like Mario Kart. This includes an extra move die, limiting special abilities, and ignoring the jail. Makes it so much better. If I wanted to nerd out completely I'd rearrange certain spaces on the board and add it's own version of chance cards that work like items during a mario kart race.

Just think if Asmodee wanted to cash in on this craze, they would partner up and make Formula D: Mario Kart. I can see it with the giant boards, double sided goodness. Then have add multiple tracks? Super powers? oh boy. Sounds like a dream... for now.

Why did they use N64 Rainbow Road and not the Wii U/ Switch version instead? It would have made a lot more sense to use an image of the actual track that space represents

Probably downforce. A lot of people are buying the game or just the figures as a component upgrade for Downforce.

I've also seen people playing a lesser know game called Rush & Bash which is basically a Non IP Mario Kart board game using these pieces on a Downforce board with a couple rule adjustments.

Love mariokart, monopoly not so much. It doesn't strike me as much as a monopoly game though. Should have been made into a track, and call it just Mario Kart Board Game, loose the monopoly branding, and also should've included more characters in the box. Wasted opportunity to make a great and unique board game.
