very cool! pocket operators combines very well with monotron delay

They sure do. :)

hi! veeeery nice! how did you make the external Power supply? i din't find a project on it around... thank you!
@nelsoncolereis40587 жыл бұрын
Hi nicoiutub, the power supply is really easy. Just get a 3v power supply, get a power supply jack that fits and solder the + to the + and the - tot the - of the battery side. The Montron itself already has an on off switch.

I found a better way. There is a ground and +5V solderpoint on the back of the pcb. I used a diode on the +5V side.

Hi ! How did you mod the feedback mute ?
@nelsoncolereis40587 жыл бұрын
Middle leg of the pot to ground, with a switxh in between. That simple. :)

Can you help me? Ii soldered + line to VCC pad and - line to GND pad on the circuit board as a power supply mod. However, this added a whistle sound to the audio signal. Tried different V5 power supplies, different wall outlets, and even cables. Any thoughts on how to get a clean signal when adding a power supply mod?
@nelsoncolereis40584 жыл бұрын
Hey, I don't know. Most of the time it's the power supply. Check if all your (solder)connections are ok. Maybe try a diode between +5v and the VCC? Or a small resistor? You can use a bread board to test things out, see what works. Other then that, no idea.

May be a „ground loop“.

Hey this is great; I'd like to do something pretty similar -- are your mods basicly in line with the Shock Electronix eurorack conversion kit for the MD?
@nelsoncolereis40587 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you're saying. I don't know of Shock Electronix eurorack. The mods are mostly made by trying out points, connected to the - of the Monotron. Different points trigger different sounds. Like circuit bending. Some points are labeled on the back of the pcb.

I took a closer look at everything you did after my first message and you've got quite a bit more than them actually; your's is the best Monotron Delay mod out there probably. So, very inspiring! Thanks and have a good year.

Thanks, you have a good year too.

Love love love the feedback mute! I'm a little confused about the sync output. How was that connected? I had no idea the MD could be clocked
@nelsoncolereis40586 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Monotrons can receive and send clock. Atleast the Classic and the Delay, not sure about the DUO because it has no lfo. There are resistors in the middle of the pcb just above the lfo int pot. Where the blob of glue is. Not sure why they put that there. Take a jack and use aligatorclips from ground to the jack ground and poke around a little there in the resistors. There’s a clean sync signal in there. Same goes for sending a clock in. It’s two resistors to the left if I remember correctly. I’m modding another Delay and my Classic soon so I’ll document it better with photos and make new demos.
@nelsoncolereis40586 жыл бұрын
Check this video it shows where the sync in is. The sync out is a little to the left.
@nasound426 жыл бұрын
Wow, thank you! Really appreciate that! This is a game changer for my mod. I'm basically doing the same, but I'm modding a duo as well and recasing both in the same space.
@nelsoncolereis40586 жыл бұрын
Cool, I modded a DUO a while back, turned it into a cv contrable filter with feedback distortion. The pots are easily replaced by cutting the legs and soldering wires to a new B10K pot using the old pot solderpoints on the back. It is a lot better to work with this way, not the tiny knobs so close together.
@nasound426 жыл бұрын
Oh damn, I never thought to just cut them. Thank you! Haha I was not looking forward to de-soldering them. Yes, agreed 100%. I'm not a big fan of this style of knob. I get that they wanted a small package, but it's more fun when you can grab and modulate without worrying about knocking out other parameters

Nice mods. Im going to midify it and doing some mods. Any advice about a cheap one to do ? (Midi if + shipping is 40$ here...)
@nelsoncolereis40587 жыл бұрын
I don't have tips on using midi. Never tried that. All the mods I did are cheap. You just need some switches, buttons and jacks. What do you want to know?
@testohtoby7 жыл бұрын
I'd like to add the resonance mod on the vcf and the square wave on the vco. it could be nice to add some switches to route the lfo from pitch to vcf. I'd appreciate your support !
@nelsoncolereis40587 жыл бұрын
Sorry can't help you with that. The resonance mod is well documented online. You should be able to find enough info about that and try out stuff yourself. For the LFO routing, the LFO output is accessible on the back side, rout it to a switch then to where ever you want to go.
