It's called "Catch and Release". It helps keep bass calm in the live well and promotes slime growth. My fish are only in the live well for a very short time while I flag down a near by boat for a picture.

I put them in a live well and go to the nearest fisherman for a picture before they are released. I really don't think it is unreasonable to want a picture of a 13 or 14 pound bass. 5 pounders are thrown back immediately, but don't we all want a picture of a 13 or 14 pounder?!?! It's easy to say you wouldn't want a pic until it is in your hand! These fish are my babies and I treat them well. You had a fair question and that's my answer.

Putting the bass in the livewell for a pic is totally acceptable. The fish can recover and then is released. Nice fish!

its better to put in ur live well and treat it for any stress factors before you release it back in to the wild. most times fish that are release to quickly after a long and hard fight, they usually end up dying. but i feel you on catch and release

I think I read somewhere that you hand make your waterdog lures, you should defiantly do a tutorial on how. The bass here in Texas destroy live waterdogs. I really want some of those.

WOW!!!! How deep was that monster bedding? The water must have been really clear. I live in NC and would love to hook up with a bass that size!! I caught one yesterday that was 10lbs. 2oz. and yours made mine look small. I saw u put her in the livewell. Did u keep her or put her back? Please practice catch and release!

Wow I'd love to know how you sight fished her. I've fished LMV plenty of times and always seem the monster bass, but the only thing they seem to go after are the smaller bass that I'm reeling in. I did a quick Google search on water dog lures, and it won't allow me to post the link, but I found a plastic that kind of looks like a lizard- Is this what you used? And how did you hook it as far as hook/weight set up, and were you swimming it or hopping it on the bottom?

They are nice catches man. But if they are bedding, and i presume they are seeing that all of them are sight fish. Why do you put them in the live well and take them off their bed rather than just releasing them right there?
