Monster Bass on the Fly Rod Pine BarrensTree FROG Micro FROG

Most people who know and fish the Designer Bass FROGs do not know that they were originally designed to be used on a fly rod. They were actually too light to be cast on a spinning or baitcasting rod even though they were larger, full size FROG Lures that required a special custom made shooting taper fly line that Capt. Ken called the “FROG Cannon”. In later years, he designed heavier models for conventional tackle and also designed a much smaller version as a Micro FROG which can be fished on 6-20 lb braid on a spinning rod or on a flyrod. It was no surprise that the bigger FROGs caught many monster bass for Capt. Ken and many other users once he began to sell them to other fishermen around the world in 2008, but it was a big surprise to even Capt. Ken that the Micro FROGs also caught monster bass on a regular basis, especially in situations where finesse & stealth become a factor. And now, on a fly rod, you no longer need to cast that large wind resistant FROG Lure.
