This Monster Bass Broke My 5 Weight Fly Rod

Well i must say to me its a Honor to have my rod broken by a Bass than by anything else .. Fishing in the rain with big bass is Awesome Great Video!!!!!

Is a 5 wt fly rod fine for targeting bass im gonna use the 5wt to fish bass panfish and trout I use small dry flies wooly buggers and I also use mini poppers so should a 5wt handle some big bass I don’t wanna break the fly rod lol

It was my favorite because its so light and easy to use all day, and it makes even the small bass & bluegills more fun. But if you are fishing for really big bass around very bad vegetation or other obstructions, you might lose the bass if he reaches the ugly cover, and you might even break your rod if you don't give some line when a monster makes a run for cover. If you watch more of my flyfishing videos, you will see me catch many huge bass around heavy cover (6-10 lb) with a 5 weight, but there is risk of losing the big fish or breaking your rod --- but it sure is fun trying ! It's better to pick a spot with big fish potential that has a lot of open, deeper water to run to when hooked, but sometimes they still want to run for the shallow cover. Good Luck !
