It was my favorite because its so light and easy to use all day, and it makes even the small bass & bluegills more fun. But if you are fishing for really big bass around very bad vegetation or other obstructions, you might lose the bass if he reaches the ugly cover, and you might even break your rod if you don't give some line when a monster makes a run for cover. If you watch more of my flyfishing videos, you will see me catch many huge bass around heavy cover (6-10 lb) with a 5 weight, but there is risk of losing the big fish or breaking your rod --- but it sure is fun trying ! It's better to pick a spot with big fish potential that has a lot of open, deeper water to run to when hooked, but sometimes they still want to run for the shallow cover. Good Luck !

Derrik, yes I do. Clone Series are always available, and now available with the Hi-detail Painted Legs. For the Original Series & Replicant Series, you need to get your name on the Wait List to have them made. It can be a pretty long wait for those, but I do place a few Original Series & Hybrid Series occasionally in the FROG Lure Store on bass-frog.com I think there's a few there right now, and soon there will be an Original Series Pine Barrens Tree FROG there with DNA Hot Legs, unless someone gets it before I get chance to post it. Eric, I liked that bass's enthusiasm on the strike. I caught 3 more big ones on the FROG that day that I haven't posted yet, and one other nice one on the Micro FROG. It was in the heat of July, but we had had a bunch of rain that week that cooled the water down, and the bigger bass showed up to play. Thanks for watching !

I wasn't really ready to put them on the websites yet, because I wasn't sure how I'm going to present them for customers yet. It will be a Kit form tough because you will have various action tails colors & really strong scents. Bacon, Crawfish etc. I will have some "teaching" to do. I've been so busy for 15 years that I haven't been real helpful to buyers. Most people figure things out though.

Yours will be the first Cuban Tree FROG that I have done. Can't believe I never thought of it. Big Eyes, great markings, and they are all over the outside of my house. Be careful with those guys though. They have a toxin in their skin that can blind you, and there's new research about a brain infection. Don't let your pets bite or eat them. Some customers leave their Signature & Original Series on their desk & only take the Clones out to fish!

Shane, I love fishing Georgia. I spent a couple years there at Ft Gordon and fished Clark Hill Reservoir a lot and also a bunch of ponds. Sure would like to fish some rivers some day. You were more right than you know. I got away with it about 6 more times, and then I ran into one that showed me what could happen. It's all on video when I get a chance. Could be one of those Monsters I got on the new Fly Rod Eel with the 8 wt this last Winter. (on KZbin now) I really loved that old Temple Fork 5 wt. Had it for about 40 some years.

He was much appreciated. Caught a 4 lb'er right after that with a smaller flyrod and a smaller Eel. Probably would have skunked without the Eel until warmer afternoon temps arrived.

I really like your bass lures. this fish fascinates me I use flyrod for bass in southern of France models from whitlock: watersnakes diver, swimming frog. Really deadly for bass,your technics is amazing (weedgard and action lures)

@@KenDaubert I bet, that’s a aggressive fish on lightweight gear. I live in Greenville nc so a lot of ponds I fish are feed by the tar river. I hook up on them alot

Hey Charles, I just recently lost my own Dark Green Replicant to a Gator. I had caught a lot of big fish on it for ten years, including the one in this video. Too busy making them for everyone else though to make another for me --- or to post many videos !

Yes, I remember the Tarpon you caught and several big bass. The new versions are much, much better and much more durable. I had the photos up on the www.noflyrodneeded.com website for a long time, but I had to rebuild all 3 websites due to the software going extinct. I will get the photos back up as soon as I get a chance. There are quite a few new DragonFly videos on www.floridakayakfishing.com now and also on KZbin from a year ago. This past year I had to get back to FROG fishing. The two years previous, I spent most of my time fishing the new versions of the Dragonflies. I still have tons of DragonFly & FROG video to post if I can just get some extra time. But I'm very backed up on making all of the custom lures. By the way, the new versions are much, much better and much more durable.
