@joshkpoole Pearl Jam stemmed from many punk rock influences from the likes such as The Who and Ramones. PJ's 1994 album "Vitalogy" was punk rock for sure. They have taken on a softer alt. rock feel in the past decade, but at the beginning (the really good stuff) they could and are most certainly classified as punk.

It really depends on your ears. When I wear my solos the right cup sticks better to my ear but it doesnt change the sound or anything and it doesnt feel weird or anything like that ^^

@thebestboxbreaker Solo HD are High Definition Audio and the Solo are High Performance Audio. Just Google them both to see the difference.

why would you pay $200 for plastic? i bought a pair of bowers and wilkins p3 headphones for the same price and there is absolutely no plastic on them. they sound so natural and real. you should check those out

@Zo23Kirk They are not fake. The solo's have a neoprene soft case. The more expensive ones come with the hard covered case.

@DaveandMacca The Audio Technica M50($100) and the Sony XB700($80) are good headphones that are under 150 bucks, but I could recommend more headphones, you just need to answer a couple of questions. Will you use these outside, do you mind having a portable amp, will sound leakage be a problem, do you NEED good sound isolation(only if you are listen to music on a plane or while lawn mowing) and what type of music do you listen to?

Hey, sometime over the summer i'm gonna be getting the beats by dr dre and I'm not sure which to get. Now I listen to a lot of different types of music: Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, to stuff like Lady GaGa, and Ke$ha. I'm considering either the studios or the solos, or maybe even the solo HDs. Which headphones do you think would be the best overall for me considering the money also? Honestly right now I'm moving towards the solos. Thanks

@giants921722 No. Do a wiki search on Intel High Definition Audio. To get HD audio, the source must emit HD. Otherwise, it will sound the same. The wiki article says as of 2008, most audio manufactures don't emit the full spectrum of HD audio to spec. If you're ripping your standard CDs to a mp3 player and listening to music or downloading mp3s, then there is no difference. It's like releasing I Love Lucy on BluRay. If it's not encoded in hi-def, then the HD format won't add anything.

See when u mentioned the studios cord.. they''re not supposed to be running with theyre made for studio use so thats why they didnt bother putting the cord stuff as much as they did in the hphs themselves

So I've been using cheap little ear buds that I think came with the Iphone, I don't quite remember but they are just cheap ear buds. I listen to rock music so if I switch to these will I notice a good jump forward in quality?

@Truton235 If you're fine with open back, I highly suggest the HD 558. Not quite as much bass as the 518, but you get a bump in overall sound quality. They should be just under $150 on Amazon, too.

Well the Beats software really makes not just the beats but any headphones sound alot better because im pretty sure (correct me if im wrong) that its kind of like a sound card for some phones and laptops that use the system

I'm watching this video with my solo beats and i really like them. They do feel a little flimsy but they do have amazing bass. But to me the most important thing is every time i wear them to school or where ever people ask me about them and to me that makes them worth it because i would rather pay more for style and performance then performance alone

@LILDEVIL7788 depends,at half volume, they hardly leak at all.Other people would only hear minimal sound and it would have to be in a completely silent room.So anywhere else apart from a completely silent room,at half volume,youll be the only one to hear your music:Dbut at 75% to full blast they do leak enough for others to hear clearly

ok i have these headphones and when you plug the cable in the other way with the angle side in the earphones and the straight side in the head phones the music sounds differently and if u hit press the silver button the headphones are louder than if they were plugged in the other way. can anyone tell me why?

@Truton235 Nope. The XB500's have a much more accurate, more true presentation of the lower frequencies too. So basically your XB500's have better bass than the Solos.
