The Cellar vs White-Tailed largely depended on who struck first. If the White-Tailed Spider got the Cellar spider with a bite before it could begin wrapping it'd be over before it begun. The same applies for the Cellar, it won because it struck quicker.

A while back, before Covid, me and my family actually had a beautiful orb weaver spider settle down in our garden right outside the kitchen window. My little sister named it Charlotte but I don't know what gender the spider was so I just went with it. Every day, either me or my sister would stand in front of the window on a step stool and watch Charlotte do absolutely nothing but wait in the center of her gorgeous web for prey to fall in. None of us got to see her in action but it was really nice having such a beautiful and helpful neighbor. It was a win-win situation for both her and my family. We provided a place for her to make her web and provided her with plenty of prey, and she provided free pest control for us. We didn't bother her, and she didn't bother us. I don't know what happened to her but one day both her and her web were gone. Either she took down her web and died or she took down her web and moved on to a different location. Either way, I really miss her.

I had an orb weaver hang out on the frame of my garage door. She would have her web up at night then take it down after morning. She returned to the same spot every night for many days, and she caught many pest insects along the way!

One time I had three golden orb weaver spiders in my back yard they died in a week because all of them had layed there egg sacks it was good having them… the egg sacks haven’t hatched to this day

i HAVE a phobia for insects, especially spiders, but I'm also morbidly attracted to watching them. This is a fine series which I hope lasts for a long time. I got to thinking about all the different venoms and poisons of these small creatures and how they must have benefits medically for human beings and that is why we should save the rain forest. One day we might be saved by one of these poisons in medical form.

They did! If I remember though, just barely because the wasps switched tactics. They still lost a good portion of their own though. The wasps didn't kill the queen. They did win, but they had to pull out all the stops to do it.
