The Chilliwack River gets a return of winter-run steelhead which enter the system in early December and through until March or as late as April.

Tanks!! First year salmon fishing for me and watched almost all your videos back from 3 - 4 years ago before the season started. I am literally just mimicking you and rooster tails have been productive for me. I use a 1/4 oz for all the smaller systems. But the 1/4 oz RS and 3/8 jigs sucked for me in Vedder as they got pushed out to the bank within seconds after hitting the water. It could be just me fishing the wrong spots. what size rooster tails do you use for Vedder?

it’s gonna vary depending on what part of the system you’re on, best to have some of every size so you always have the correct weight to throw, you’re not gonna catch much if you’re not near the bottom

I'm using 3/8oz rooster tails and 3/8oz jigs in the video. Yes, need to adjust the lure weight for depth and water speed. Gotta stay near the bottom.
