I can't tell you how much I appreciate the shout-out! As usual, you make my game look better than I can 😅. I hope a few people come and check out the game! It has been a fun time getting to do something like this. As for why I adjusted the CR limits, it was to create more of a gradient for monsters of various power levels. It just kind of gave me more future tools, as set 1 features typically more "weak"/early game monsters from the video game.

those foils actually look really cool, if they did those are just the line art and text, no colours, they would make some cool secret rares, or even event promos

We got around 300 of them from the printer and I have been inserting them into Kickstarter reward packages

This happened in the first set of VS System, it was Xmen/Brotherhood. I opened an entire case of booster boxes and ended with 0 uncommons. Uncommon Wolverine was the most expensive card in the game for a while. Luckily they fixed it with the 2nd printing but it killed the market for that set.

Have opened up some booster boxes myself. It really is fun to see the randomness. One box I got 7 super rares and another i got like 30 haha. Really fun to pull so make sure to buy a booster box from the store before the randomized error boxes are gone

Honestly I agree, not well known but they have seasonal tournaments on their discord, and the game is easy enough to learn. Add in a pretty small deck in tcg terms (25 cards, only a single copy of most cards though) and a unique art style and I really like it. They recently came out with three 2-player decks for season 2, could make for a good unboxing.

out of 7 boxes, I got 4 death and a full art death. I think it depends on where the print happened for your box. I would get a pack that is half dream pulls!

@@HyliRelaxed I just opened my 2nd box and 3 more Deaths with the star foil, 1 Death with the thick reflective grid pattern foil, a normal foil full art Death, and a thick reflective grid pattern foil full art. I don't know if I should be excited or worried by the amount of Death cards I pulled.

They dropped a box and starter at one of my local stores. It makes me feel better knowing they actually made a video game first then the cards. I don't think this will be a meta Zoo type deal.

A booster box is currently $50!? Is this even making a profit.. or are big companies stealing from people?
@Spudmay5 ай бұрын
Well, we are selling straight from ourselves at the moment. We don't have stores and distributors wanting cuts. These prices will have to rise out of necessity as things grow (although I'd still like to be on the lower end!)
@SexyMrNibbles5 ай бұрын
Lil bro, let me teach you how products get to your hands and what an upcharge is. Lets say the raw materials (cardboad for the boosterbox and cards, plastic for the packs, and ink for everything) cost $10. Just a nice random number pulled out of my ass for this example. Obviously the manufacturers wont sell the booster box to the developers for $10. They need money to pay their workers and make a profit. So there will be an upcharge, say $20. So a booster box going into the developers hands is $30. Well, that dev also wants to get paid. Not only for making the game but for developing mechanics for further expantions, making art, etc. So they will upcharge another $20 making 1 boosterbox cost $50 by the time it leaves their hands. Well, if we are talking about a big company, it doesnt stop there. WotC, TPC, Bandai, Konami, they dont sell directly to the customer like this developer does. They sell to a distributor/whole seller. And thouse guys have workers to feed so up the price goes for another $20 making 1 boosterbox cost $70 when it leaves their hands. And the one who buys from them are the LGS. Your locals obviously need to make a profit too, so another $20 mark up it is. In this example, we the end customers have to pay $90 for 1 boosterbox. This is basically how the consumer market works. The more times a product has to switch hands, the more it will end up costing. Hope this help you swallow the $100 or so price tag next time you buy a box.
