i love nascar and the stage racing gives a new strategy for drivers and crew chief but i hate the overtime line it needs to go back to 3 green/white/checkered attempts then call the race that always gave a great race ending battles please NASCAR change that back for 2018 thanks 26yr fan Josh. W

Josh Welliver stage racing make Martin Truex jr win the championship. Why do they get championship points for winning stages? The only thing I like about stages, Is when tehey throw the caution to have a good restart and maybe someone else could win. But no NASCAR. you're wrong. I like and dislike the stages.

Even with the caution coming out after they took the white flag, theirs no reason for an overtime line when the only line they should be crossing to determine a race is the start finish line. Regardless of the moment of caution nobody should see a race end before they get to the back straight away.....

You know, I never really realized how boring it is for one driver to win race after race after race until Truex started winning at 1.5 mile tracks all the time. And that's really weird, because I've been a fan since 2004, and have experienced the Edwards/Busch domination of 2008 (At a time that I disliked both of them), and many years with Johnson winning the majority of races.

As a Kevin Harvick fan, I would just like to thank the announcers for not informing us of his penalty on the final pit stop. He went into the pits 5th, and after the penalty restarted 18th. Not a peep. Kinda important. Lotsa fancy graphics, stupid interruptions by "Rutland", and 'artistic' camera angles to enjoy while I searched desperately to figure out where Harvick was. NBC is almost as bad as Fox; but the one good thing you have is Jeff Burton.

Kamel Kadri overtime means that the caution laps went past the finish so they do two more laps at the most unless there is another overtime. In this case, they were past the overtime line meaning that the next flag ends the race even if it’s a caution. Since the caution came out why Truex was in front he won.

All it takes to fix this is 1) make sure that you have to cross the line to finish first and 2) the last race of the season make a cut line in the field based on points and only the top so many drivers (say 24) can compete for the championship, whoever wins the last race (or two) wins the championship. (the drivers who are not in the top of points could start the race with a disadvantage) this isn't difficult but NASCAR has found a way to ruin something good.

I just recently had two Sunday dinners with out of town guests and not once did NASCAR come up. I remember when not that long ago, Nascar was talked about around Sunday dinner. I haven't watch anything other than a truck race in a while and that's only to cheer for N.H. Nemecheck or however his name is spelled lol, it's sad anyway that they have ruined their sport, consider how few people attend races and watch anymore. I follow dirt track racking and enjoy that but Nascar just keeps making one bafoon decision after another, the only thing they have got right in a decade is changing qualifying and that was a decade too late, we suggested it too them almost twenty years ago. Oh well. it's their family owned business and as long as it makes them money they won't care until it's too late

there are no such thing as playoffs here, we wake up and all of a sudden one day we have so called playoffs, how's that possible when is has never existed before in all of motor sport. Motor sport is race to win. It was about failing tv ratings in the fall when kids when back to school and the NFL season was in full swing, the world series was on and basketball was just starting, NASCAR brags about being a corporate sport anymore, all the recent exit of the greats in the sport well this is the second time in the last fifteen years that has been done, it serves no purpose other than to make money but it hasn't worked the sport is failing and will never be mainstream again like it was at the turn of the century.

+raceMaster green white checkered was never a good idea, before that a race could finish under caution, then all of a sudden they realized that the tv telecast could be extended for the purpose of getting more ad dollars and plus Hendrick Motorsports and Roush Racing had like 11 cars in the race or something and one of those was always up front and people complained about that so it was changed.

TwinSpinner - I didn't say that, you did! Nascar can throw the caution and do it all over again and again until the fans see the race completed under green. I have been going to Nascar races since 1983 so I've had my fill of races finishing under yellow. Case in point the last Nascar race I attended was Talladega about 9 or 10 years ago and I had seats for Saturday and Sunday already but decided to attend Thursday's Arca race, Montoya and Allmendinger were just starting in Nascar at that time. The race started at 4 p.m. which I thought was odd but that's Nascar for ya, anyway that race was called for darkness. Saturday's truck race ended in turn 3 on the last lap so another finish under yellow, Sundays race finished under yellow also. SO! After spending $300 bucks for my annual RV parking spot, about the same for Gas, food cost, $50 bucks for 4 fucking beers and 3 days worth of tickets I decided that was enough for me so I haven't been back and won't be back. In 1983 you were allowed a 12" × 12" cooler, beer, sodas and a sandwich so the cost was minimal but as the years went on Nascar decided to put it to the fans because of GREED and for what? a finish under yellow? no thanks! It was a personal choice so my dollar my choice!
