Ethan Yang He’ll most likely be in Iceborne, in fact may be the next monster revealed after Brachydios. If you look at the recent trailer with Fulgur Anjanath all the elements are there. That and I believe every monster on the 15th anniversary poster will be in Iceborne including Valstrax with how things have been releasing and revealed/teased.

I had a similar reaction the first time I tried Charge Blade. It felt so oddly like something I'd imagined myself in highschool, even though my doodles at the time were nothing like what the MH team produced ... (I basically imagined a shield but with a sword- or lance-like blade on the bottom and axe-liked edges on the top corners, allowing it to be wielded in a variety of ways; now compare the Charge Blade where you literally stick the sword _in_ the shield to form a battleaxe with the shield as its head.)

I absolutely adore the flow of a Zinogre fight. It's fast paced and tense, more so than most other monsters, yet doesn't feel forced. All of its attacks are fair yet punishing, and don't even get me STARTED on how satisfying it is to beat it. It's one of the monsters that made me start to love the series. Some more details on the symbiosis between thunder bugs and Zinogre. Thunder bugs usually generate electricity to protect themselves, but their natural predator, Gargwa, has beaks that are non-conductors. Hence Gargwa feeds on thunder bugs. Gargwa’s natural predator is Zinogre, hence the protection. This part about the ecology of Zinogre can be read in the info of him in MHP3rd which Zinogre is the flagship(at least that’s where I learned about this).

His music is one of the greatest rock-orchestra pieces I have even had the pleasure of hearing. In MH3U when I first fought him, he did his attack where he plants one foot on the ground and does a big tail whip. I dodged right through it, and though I know now I was just taking advantage of the I-frames, it looked like my hunter had JUST shot the gap between his tail and the ground. Then, in the same hunt (Moga Woods BTW) in the area with the stream and waterfall. Right in front of the waterfall, I went for a spirit combo just as he sprinted at me. The second before his hitbox contacted me, I pulled off the last hit of the spirit combo and flew right past him, killing him. I would KILL to have been able to record things like that back then.

My favourite thing about Jinouga is how powerful it feels. The way it walks towards you, sizing you up and the movements it makes gives this sense of great confidence. Unlike Tigrex, who I also love very much, Jinouga feels checked, controlled. It has power and it knows how to use it properly. My favourite memory of Jinouga is actually kinda bs. I was hunting with a friend and Jinouga stopped, turned and ran to the next area, the music not playing. So we sheathed our weapons and chased it, but it suddenly backflipped and crushed me, resulting in a cart. It was a weird moment, but also a really funny one. I still think it's a bug or glitch, but I thought it was a really cool idea for Jinouga to bait hunters by pretending to escape before crushing them with a body slam.

Zinogre holds a special place in my heart because it was the first monster I've ever saw from the series. I was friends with a japanese student at my school and he played the game on his PSP. I look over his should and see zinogre and I am immediately hyped. He told me the game is only in japanese and there wont be an english one so I was pretty bummed. But then after finding out mhgen was coming to America. I bought a new ds and the game and thus started my hunting career. Since then with the help of world I got some of my friends into the series. Now i really hope zinogre can make it so i can show them my favorite monster that started it all for me.

He's been a favorite of mine since his intro in 3U. I mean he's a giant acrobatic lighting wolfbeast, armored to the teeth and way faster than you are. What's not to love? If he doesn't end up in world at some point, I'll be seriously disappointed, to me he's just as much a staple as Rathalos now.

my favorite thing about zinogre is its theming when it comes to armor and weapon stuff. I forget exactly what it says, but they got names like 'usurper' that reflect that Zinogre is really trying to challenge the current flying-wyvern-centric top of the food chain. Its elements reflect this too: lightning is a really good counter to Rathalos, the "king of the skies", and Dragon element is even better as well as being the weakness of a lot of the Dragon-like elder dragons too. It gives off this feeling of ambition, wanting to dethrone the current masters of the monster world while being distinct from Nergigante's "gonna eat all the elders" thing it's got going on.

I adore Zinogre. In a game drenched in lizards, it's nice to see something with more of a mammalian design. Not to mention, the fight is just real fun and challenging in a good way. I remember being roped into a zingore hunt WAAAY before I should have fought it back in 4U (while trying out the light bowgun, no less) and that was my first impression of it. So when we got absolutely destroyed, that had one hell of an impact, and so when I got to it in 4U's story, it felt incredible to be able to keep up with and ultimately topple it. And that's why he to this day remains a favourite of mine. also I can't not find it funny how zinogre debuted in a game that came out but a few months after the debut of MonHun's first major "clone", so to speak, God Eater, whose flagship was also a large mammal with honestly pretty similar thunder powers, Vajra. Only that's a cat, and Zinogre's a dog. And it's not like it's plagiarism in any way either, GE came out earlier in the year yet I highly doubt either design was copied as both were developed pretty much simultaneously. It's a really funny coincidence to me.

One of my favorite monsters of the entire series. What I like the most about Zinogre is his agility, power, and aggression. He fights like a Mexican luchador on PCP. Flips, bodyslams, haymakers. And that howl he does when he charges up. Such a cool monster. No matter how many stars a Zinogre quest has, you can’t ever be complacent against him, or he will wreck you. And EX Thunderlord Zinogre was one of the hardest, most intense fights in MHGU. His theme song is a banger, his design is wicked, and I really hope to see him in Iceborne.

Adding Zinogre and Stygian Zinogre would be very cool... They are the masters of Latent Power and Peak Performance! Plus, they has a unique synergy with shock traps, the regular will charge electricity out of the shock trap and the other one are very effected by shock trap in rage mode. And of course, it's the only monster that it's normal species gear is countering it's subspecies... Stygian is weak to thunder and Normal Zinogre armor has good dragon resistance. They will add a lot of uniqueness to iceborne if they make it there

I remember when me and my best friend decided to try fighting Zinogre for the first time. The first hunt went so well, and we felt like we were confident enough to jump right back in and catch it again (having both been excited to start working on its gear). This second hunt did not go so well. Not only did we learn of its immunity to shock traps after it powers up, but the beastie was far more aggressively maintaining its charge. Needless to say; we quickly learned to respect the big doggo.

In my first encounter with Zinogre in 3U, i was with 2 friends and we were in area 9 of deserted island. We all left the area because 2 of us were badly injured and the other was using light bowgun and was trying to line us up to use recovery rounds, but the Zinogre followed us into the area and immediately did the back body slam move and carted both of us at once, failing the quest. That hilarious experience in addition to his color scheme, battle theme, electric element, and the really interesting symbiosis with thunderbugs is why Zinogre is my favorite monster in the series.

My favorite part of Zinogre is how well tuned the fight is. His moveset, the pace of his attacks, the hitboxes... All of it comes together for a really fun, clean fight. This is turned up to 11 in his Stygian variant, since now he does enough damage to actually be a threat. Zinogre is my favorite monster by far, I even have a figurine of him (specifically a Stygian one). Also his theme is badass.

I entered the franchise in it´s 3rd generation and played all of the games, and ZInogre is by far one of my favorite hunts, along side Lagiacrus and Brachydios when I was new in MH3U. What I love the most about Zin and several other monsters, is that feeling of fighting your nemesis, you hit, and it will hit back, hard! I love how Zin is fast pace and punishes those who can´t keep up, fights like these are what I love the most about the franchise, pure love and adrenaline!

Zinogre stands as my second favourite, and god I love it. First playing 4 Ultimate I just knew a handful, being Nargacuga, Rathalos, Rathian, the Jaggi family, and vaguely about Gore Magala. When I reached Zinogre in the main story, it was the first one I ever purposefully loved grinding an armour set from. Loved his theme, his design, just about every thing. Thus ended the days of my Khezu armour set in that game.

Zinogre is the best boi. Strong but not slow, Agile but not frail, Swift like the lightning arcing off him, Fierce with a proud nobility to him. He is a joy and a challenge to fight (depending on skill and experience with him), and the armor and weapons are all very cool. You can tell that a lot of care and detail was put into him REALLY making a lasting impression on people, and that's probably what makes me love him the most.

These are great man. Hope you keep doing them. I bought the 1st MH on release day and it was one of my favorite games of all time. I really enjoyed the ecology videos. However, I never played portable games and missed out on all the cool monsters between the 1st MH and MHW so these vids are really cool for me. Thanks for posting them!

Culturally speaking, I love how the MHP3rd team actually made Zinogre incarnate the concept of raiju Raijū, which is the dog companion of the japanese thunder god, Raijin. Also worth noting a couple details of this monster's equipment. The deviant armor really resembles the ogre-look of Raijin, and both its deviant lance and the normal one have on their shield the S symbol for thunder, and the manji for the deviant one. Meeting Zinogre for the first time in MH4U and hearing that absolutely pumping music while simultaneously scrambling like a madman trying to evade its aggression. That was a memorable hunt. Breaking off its tail is always a small victory in itself!

5:45 yeah, probably the first time they did an Unexpected *WARNING* in a quest, BGM changes to a mysterious/scary tone and terrifies you. It can almost gave me a heart attack. Can't forget that feeling. And I love the theme music my fav in the series.

Nice video ! The one thing I would I would have like you to add is Zinogore variants. Stygian Zinogore is a beast ! While Zinogore wasn't a hard fight the first time I fought him, Stygian Zinogore kicked my butt and I was like "Wow is so coooool, he makes explosions and has a red/black vibe !".

He's amazing and I want him someday in fucking Super Smash Bros the most for every reason already listed and more. He literally already has his own theme, full moveset, mascot power between old and new Monster Hunter fans, gimmick in charging up with Fulgurbugs like Arsene, simple design for physics and control and the pure selling hook of being an actual playable monster and not just another human holding a bladed weapon. With Japanese phenomena over this series and being a beefy literal lightning wolf that beats the shit out of you to electric guitar for even Americans who only vaguely know about Rathalos or Lagiacrus, there's no room to complain. Ridley and Piranha Plant all have made this possible in any way and have both shown nothing could prevent Zinogre in terms of character and subsequently gameplay. Make it happen. Zinogre Gives the Hunt a Shock.

Man I only fought him in world and the fight is so epic with the quick moves and the rock based battle music. Especially during an intense hunt with the hammer and barely dodging multiple attacks at once then knocking it out with the uppercut. Damn I get goosebumps just thinking of it.

The best thing about zinogre for me is how fluid the battle can be, with his fast animations and stylish attacks when enraged it becomes a wrathful dance, specially using Dual blades or Bushido bow
